I've seen a number of questions lately in which people are concerned about risks and dangers to the fetus as a result of the father using steroids. I'm not a doctor but I'm fairly well-versed on medical issues and I think people should rest assured that oral and injectable steroids do not present a risk to the fetus when taken by the father. People should be aware however that topical use of steroids (like fina with DMSO) most definitely can present a very real and serious risk to the fetus. This is because the mother is likely to absorb some small amount from contact with the father's skin, and the steroid can then penetrate through the placenta and affect the fetus. Definitely avoid any kind of topical steroid if you think your wife or girlfriend is or might become pregnant. Even small amounts of steroids in the mother's blood could cause serious harm to a developing embryo. Just my two cents. IP: Logged |
