I have a mailbox at Mailboxes etc. under my business name and my name. Would it be safer to recieve from there or my home?

Well, seeing you are a law abiding citizen I would stick to addy's not at your home, preferably under a different name.

Hey $1.05, what happens if they do a controlled delivery and stake out your box??
You will get busted when you pick it up anyways and probabaly look more incriminating because it is at a box.
Just my 2 cents,$1.05

If you're only buying for personal use then you're probably better off using your real name. If you get popped they won't be able to charge you with fraud.

well I look at it this way - if I put it in my company name it will be less conspicuous and since it is mailboxes etc. I can check my mail when they are closed. I can check it at 2:00am if I want to. I have a key to the place

A legitimate company name is probably even better. I just think it's probably not a good idea to use a fake name or a fake company, unless you're really playing for high stakes and are willing to take a lot of legal risks. Fraud is serious offense, and if they want to stake out the box then they're going to get you either way.

Hey man a Bud of mine had his set that way, was getting his gear from South America. Went there to check on mail one day and everyone behind the counter was a undercover agent. He got busted for what was in the mailbox plus went to his home and got his stuff there! So I don't think it is any safer.

I think I would use the box and the company name in that case, assuming you can show easily that the company is owned by you and that it's legitimate. You just don't want to give the possible prosecution more legal leverage in a plea bargain. An additional charge of mail fraud would give them huge leverage.

im still a fan of sending it to the house under a false name. whos to say that someone isnt sending you gear to get you in trouble right? the only way they can get you is if you sign for it, they bust your source, your source is big brother at the time, or if you open the package too soon(ie. they get a warrant and come by and you dont have it with return to sender on it). best bet i would say is to just not be there when mr postman delivers that way he can just leave it instead of him possibly asking you about the name, or having you physically take it from him knowing the name is false. just my take on how it would go. anyone can send mail to any address in the world. so whos to say that i dont get a package from some guy tomorrow with gear in it... that i dont know about. just my take on the situation.

I used to use a MailBox etc type place for my gear. I would always have real mail sent in my name..and gear addressed to "Boxholder". Since you have been in enough times..you should know the faces of those who work there by now. If you see any funny faces..leave the stuff for another day. I'm not a big fan of using your home address...you can always change to another MailBox etc....you can't always change your home address. I never had a problem with MB etc..just had one scare. I walked in once and our local postal inspector was there..scared the crap out of me.

Dude, the reason you don't use your real name is in case it is a bust they don't know who you are and there are ways of retrieving your mail without them seeing "YOU"

Went to my pobox this morning. I had recived a yellow slip from the postmaster that I had a package that had postage due. She knows me by name anyway the postmaster threw the package up on the counter. All I could think about was please you little v#$ls don't break. She must have seen how big my eyes got. False alarm it was a screwdriver I had replaced and they mailed it to me. Still waiting for package from the country that runs with the bulls. It has been 11 days!

OK HERE IS MY TAKE:::
MAIL BOXES ECT, is a mail box service independent from the post office right???
so to return a package to a sender you have to take it to the post office right???? have them send the stuff under a different name to your box, when you pick up the package (don't sign for anything ever)just write with a black marker on the package "REFUSED, RETURN TO SENDER" and walk away with it, if it's a set up and they stop you when you are walking to your car::: then all they have is a package that you didn't open and that you didn't sign for with a note on it that says return to sender, that is not even in your name,
Now if is a set up but they plan to get you on a traffic stop then just leave on your car on the way to the nearest post office, with the package on you passanger seat and act cool, like the package is not the reason why they are stoping you again they have nothing bacause you are on you way to the post office right??, if you make it home then it's probably not a set up and you are free, but just in case have somebody come pick up the package and hold on to it at their house for a couple of weeks just in case.
