In one particular gym I had misfortune of being forced to lift in, I got to watch a masochistic ritual that occured about three times per week. A guy who spoke like a profesor but lifted like one Jerry's Kid's decided to try a little bit of chest isolation by doing a new kind of bench press. He would load up the bar with 275, hold it at lockout for about 30 seconds before dropping the left side down on his chest with all the force of a runaway diesel truck and bouncing it back up to lock out again for the forever long 30 seconds. The collars he used must have tight like clock springs because he never dumped a plate. I prayed to God that his sternum would crack, but I was denied my wish. It scared the fuck out of me the first time I saw it. I could've sworn his elbow buckled or something!

How about the guys that load the bar with about 100lbs to much and get their butt so far off the pad it looks like a leg exercise.
Mean while the spotter is yelling at the soory bastard struggling to rack the weight.

Those dude that do decline on a flat bench and flat bench on incline. The only way to hit some upper chest for them is military press. Ah!
I hate that shit.

big dogg, that's some funny shit! I see that all the time. One of my favorites are the guys who do shrugs with their calves. You know the ones who cheat by getting up on their tippy-toes for a split second and they use the momentum so they can shrug some ridiculous amount of weight that they really can't get one clean rep with. Sometimes I just gotta laugh!

Yeah I really hate those guys who get their pelvis so high they look like they are fucking the ceiling and then afterwards they think they are all big and bad. Sometimes I just want to take a 45lb plate and late right on their fuckin shit. There that will keep it down!

there is a such thing as a power shrug where you use your whole body to shrug it and go on your tippy toes etc. just so you know
