i was just sitting here thinking, ok that's a lie. anyway while i was sitting here i realized that every time that i go into the gym i change my routine. i mean i just can't stand sticking to the same pattern time and again. that shit gets boring as hell. so i was wondering if i am alone on this one or what? does anyone else mix up there # of sets, reps, and excercises weekly? i mean don't get me wrong if something is working then i usually stick with it for a few weeks, but normally i change it up all the time. is this normal?

That's the only way I fly now bro. First it started as I went through so many different routines I was rewriting my program every 3 weeks. Finally I said fuck it. Threw out my log book and just go to the gym and pick what I feel like. It works for me. Never boring, always hitting different angles of the muscles, etc. I just keep the number of sets the same - always do 4 sets per exercise and plan on 20 - 25 sets, so about 5 or 6 different exer's per muscle.

I change the routine up alot also. Keep the muscle guessing. By the same token I always keep the basic movements like Bench, Squat and Row. The stuff I switch up are things like dumbell flyes v/s pec deck, or tricep extentions v/s nose breakers,etc... Keeps the work out more interesting and sometimes in trying something new you really find that just right movement to hit the lagging body part.
