![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Everyone, We are working to bring more Women to the Women's discussion board, and we want to bring more traffic to the Anabolics and HIV Discussion Board too. I know that many of us can help people with HIV and AIDS wasting with our knowledge and expertise. We are working to find Women moderators for the Women's board. Please let me know your thoughts for recruiting MD's, people with HIV, knowledgeable gays and lesbians, etc to help moderate the HIV board. Also any suggestions on building traffic there will be greatly appreciated. ------------------ George George Spellwin

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I think female moderators in the womens board would be a great attraction for women. As for the HIV and Aids discussion..would it be possible to get a guest doctor or physician on the board or not..to moderate this...I mean who would be more qualified to answer questions about it...as well as gay and lesbian participants to form an experienced veiw. All I know about it is how not to get it. Good Luck with it...George, we will do what we can. Bump!!!!! WCP IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Y2Kylee said female mods would be good. Warlobo would also (obviously) be a good choice if he was up for it. The way I see it this board is already co-ed, Y2Kylee (as do other girls) posts her questions here and on the WB but gets far more replies here because the Readership is so much larger. Guys on this board aren't likely to check the Womens Board. I guess the more new girls you can attract to the board the better the discussion/knowledge base will be? IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() You could just go for it and have a board called women looking for men. IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() My wife likes the board but can see no use for herself. Female borad doesn't get enough interest and she isn't one to go asking a bunch of strange guys questions about training. You will need to have female mods, so as they can feel comfortable with resource. Also I would say that I help her alot but what works for guys is not the same for ladies and most of them in no way want to look like the female body builder. The fitness comps. has been one of the best things to happen for ladies. When my wife shows me pictures of what she thinks is an ideal look, it is always one of the Ms. fitness competitors. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() i think we might be going at it all wrong. if our goal is to increase the number of women we should shoot for coed. and bring aboard a female mod. i don't think directing them to the womans board right off would keep them around too long. not enough traffic. bring them to this board since they will definitly get lots of resopnse to the questions they post (i know if i need something answered that dosn't get answered i'd post in a female name)once the women get comfortable with the lingo, concepts, and what not, they will start to migrate over to the womens board for more of the womens point of view on issues. one thing that i'm glad we did first is to create the chat board. if we get lots of ladies on this board, we'll never keep to business. this is an awesome board. very informative and extremly helpful. thanks to everone who has contuibuted. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() HIV+ here and have done 2 cycles. I have posted before. I have known my status for 6 years and have had the virus for at least 8. August of '98 I was 300 pounds and 27% body fat. I read Dan Duchaines "Militant Weight Loss..." followed it to the "T" and by 5/99 I was 225 and 12% BF. Last summer I went on my first cycle and put on about 15 pounds of muscle maintaing my BF at 10%. I jsut finished my seond cycle recently and had all my blood work done. I weigh 250 pounds, 17" a, 35"w, 50"c, 29'q, 19.5" clvs. My Doctor is totally amazed! I shared with him my research and what i was taking and my diet. We talked for 45 minutes (which as you all know is kind of unheard of). My cholesterol numbers are fantastic and my T-cells have risen to the upper 900s from the upper 600 and the virus is undetectable with the most sensitive test. The doctor wants me to talk to some of his other patients. I told him my workout regime and how i thought that weight training and aerobics are the key to health because it keeps stress at bay and for people with immune deficiency this is key. I am on a 2500 calorie a day diet taking in 40g of protein every 2 hours and I play with the carbs ( actually carbs have always been my enemy because they turned to fat so readily in my other self and they still scare me. The hardest thing is that one of my medcations must be taken on an empty stomach and to tell the truth my stomach is very seldom empty. Also it is important to know that some of the protease inhibitors are sensitive to grams of carbohydrates so soemtime diet is tough for peole with HIV. I must add that when i found out I was HIV positive I thought it gave me this license to eat whatever I wanted so i would keep wasting at bay...I thought if I had all this fat reserve how i could I go wrong. But, I read a lot and it is lean muscle that we want. Also, my brohter and Dad died in their early 50's of massive first time heart attacks and that was a big factor. I did not want to fight HIV and end up dying of a massive heart attack...I am 48. I have not posted on the HIV board cuz there is a lot more intersting stuff going on here and I learn so much from all the great guys posting (don't be so hard on us newbies everyone was a newbie at one time or another. And, thanks to E2 for his reposting of rules. It really is helpful. BTW what does "BUMP" mean. I think it means "agree" but not sure.) But George, i will make it a habit of visiting the Anabolics and HIV discussion board. IP: Logged |
