Why is everyone so down on Lasix? It's a pretty safe diuretic (I feel the amps are preferable to the orals though). If you feel you might need a diuretic in the near future, keep them. IP: Logged |

Damn the misinformation on this board grows and grows everyday huh? Lasix (furosemide) is a diuretic. It does not spare potassium so you might want to look into taking a potassium supplement (depends on what strength they are). I would check the expiration date see how they look, and save them in a medicine cabinet. You never know when you might need them. Was your dog overweight?Seriously! Sometimes an overweight dog may have such a horrible body composition and high blood pressure that his ventricles may fill up with water! This, almost 70% of the time, leads to death! So, for a quick fix, the vets give these dogs lasix in order to clear out their ventricles before their whole vascular system shuts down. If it has the same exact make-up as normal old lasix, why not? But hey, don't take someone else's word for it, do your own research! Good luck bro IP: Logged |
