![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() While on AS should you keep the long distance running to a minimum. With your heart being a muscle is that a major concern since (I'm assuming the heart will be larger also?) while on AS? Or is their no differnt effect on the heart from heavy lifting as to long distance running? Thanks, IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I would hope that your heart is not larger! That is a very bad thing, common with GH use. I have always thought the problems with the heart while on gear is from high blood pressure, and hightened cholesterol levels. I know that AS increases your red blood cell count permitting more oxygen saturation in the blood that is why cyclists and runners take them. I am no expert so don't go jog twenty miles and drop dead, it is just my understanding. IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() It was just a thought. I've read in here how guys have had that "jaw lock" in their jaw muscles. We all know they make muscles in arm, legs, chest, even now I read makes your dick longer, bigger, etc. etc. So it sounded reasonable to me to think the heart would to some degree be larger? An inquiring mind, Chris IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ....I had always wondered about this also.... i believe that the heart is made up of different a type of fibers than skeletal muscles.... and also a large part of training is adding resistance to a muscle ... I would think it would be the same as doing lots of sets of curls with no weight .... the muscle may become in better condition but have no reason to get bigger.... of course i just came up with that theory so i could be completly off base.... but it seems to make sense VK IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() First let me say I don't know much about A.S. but will input this. Last year I got a terrible sinus infection and my M.D. who is pretty easy going tells me that he is going to perscribe me steriods to help fight this off, wants to help along my immune system. I was cool what ever works. So he's going over the side effects and he tells me - your going to work like a mad man, be up all night, and drive your wife crazy. He end with you will put on 5 or 6 pounds will this be a problem. I say no I just want to get better. So in return I ask him are they really that strong and he tells me yes. So in return I ask why don't they use them on people with heart problems - thats a muscle right. He states that the only muscle that they won't build are the heart and some people think they thin the walls of the heart. So Arnold had just had the heart surgery and I asked is that what happened to him and he told me he couldn't tell without knowing more. I don't know this was just what I was told by my doctor - I have been thinking about asking him to mointor a cycle for me and see what he says. Don't know what he would say. IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Anabolic steriods will not affect the size of your heart. There are three different types of muscle in your body, skeltal - which makes up the bulk of the muscle and is the only voluntary type, smooth - this is what comprises organs like your stomach and digestive tract. It is involuntary - meaning you have no concious control over it's contraction. The third type is cardiac muscle - this is what the heart is made up of and is involuntary as well. I could get indepth as to the actualy physiology of each of the cells but I doubt anyone would be seriously interested. Cardiac muscle does not posess the same types of receptor that are found on skeltal muscle and therefore do not recognize AS the same way as skeltal muscle. As for running while on AS that seems somewhat counter productive to me as you are trying to build muscle but spending most of your muscle building calories on distance running unless you are planning to eat an ungodly ampount of food. I would lay of the distance training while your on, (aerobic traing de-trains fairly slowly and can be regained rapidly espicaly with the employment of interval training), just for the fact that your wasting calories not because of stress on your heart. ------------------ IP: Logged |
