This post is with respect to the status of amuatue vs pro that apears underneath everones handel. I have just posted my 100th post and as a result have gained the rank of pro, however I seriously doubt that I can hardley be refered to as a pro. The designation pro or amature should be a title that is designated based on the quality not just sheer quantity of advice given. Based on the current system anyone who bumps 100 posts receives the status of pro without any effort. If the title of pro was given out at the monitors discression, I think we all agree that they have enough knowledge to establish advise quality, then the designation would take on a greater meaning and the atainment of such would have a greater sense of pride. You have been given the status of pro not because you have entered 100 post but because knowledgeable people have determined that you have earned it. I hope that this doesn't get moved to the chat board because I think that it mostly applies to the members of this forum. I would appreciate it if as many people as possible would comment on their feelings towards the designation. Thanks

I say, don't sweat the 100 post thing. It just shows that you've been around for longer than a couple of days. Everybody here knows who's stupid and who is not. All I do in this board is bump anyway, so whats wrong with that?
Here ya go buddy

And another thing. Just because it's someone's 5th post doesn't mean that they don't know what they are talking about either. Look at guys like cjac1 who really know what they're talking about but haven't been around that long.

Oh yeah,
here's another BUMP!
woohooo......that's 2! Man my stats are exploding!

I'm more concerned with the knowledge than the time spent on board.
There's nothing like experience and you can usually read between the lines and weed out the man with the smaller"KNOWLEDGE"

hey stud, I'm not sure your getting my point. What I am saying is that I think it is the quality of the information that is presented that is important not the quantity. By changing the pro designation to something that is earned rather then give it, it will help out espicaly new members to sift through some of the crap.

Hey studcj, you haven't been totally honest with me, get ready for some flames. I'll mail E2 for advise because you have so many posts and I don't want the "real guys" on the board getting mad at me.

Rocko- yeah I hear you. But who wants to have a voting session for every bro on the board? This will get very tedious and will be more of a pain in the ass than anything, IMO. You just gotta filter out the bullshit, and take everyone's advice with a grain of salt.

I don't mean a formal voting session, "vote" by your reply to this post. If enough people say they want the designation changed then maybee it will get changed

Alot of these posts, besides hard facts are opinions and personnal experiences. So there'll always be contradictions even between the heavy duty pro's. It would really be hard to justify this. I don't even look at the status. It's a good idea though, just hard to regulate.

why does this issue get so much airtime?? the software for all of this board is probably identical to the ones on musclemag.com and some others i have seen. all provide for an incentive and naming process for those that post over 100. other boards have other ingenius names related to what their topic is. this one happens to be bodybuilding. would you rather have low post people be called off season and dialed in? im not sure if this feature can be turned off or not but it seem rather trivial. if someone with 7 posts is putting school in session on a particular thread, dont discount his words because you have hangups about his elitefitness "status". cmon, lets put our ego aside and enjoy the board without being concerned about who has posted more than 100 times. nuff said. peace.
