ok, ketogenic diet is great for pre-contest, but what about everyday use while utilizing A.S.? If too much protein keeps you from going into ketosis, how do you get all your protein in?

I'm on the anabolic diet and AS. Dr. DiPasquale mentions in his book that someone on this diet and supplementing with AS will get better gains than AS alone.

it must be because of the insulin increase in the weekend that it works better with AS, i know i wasent allways able to sleep in the weekend, because of the high amount of energy i had.

I must be mistaken, but I was under the assumption that while on a.s, lots of low and high glycemic carbs were needed to optimize gains. I thought the ketogenic diet was BAD for gains.

vdevil is correct. The ketogenic diet is not ideal while on A/S. I'm not sure what Di Pasquale's rational is, but a few years back, I e-mailed Dan Duchaine on the subject and he stated that his CKD was for non-steriod using BB's. There's a Dirty Dieting newsletter floating around the net which has a great article explaining insulin's role in the utilization of A/S in the body. Bottom line was you need the insulin, so you have to eat carbs. Even though I'm a huge advocate of this diet for getting really lean, I don't think the weekend carb up can compare to eating carbs all week in terms of muscle growth when on A/S.
