I recently got mine from www.issaonline.com. I haven't tried to get a job with it yet or anything though. IP: Logged |

Is there anywhere less expensive? The prices make me think I could get this or a good cycle. What the hell, someone out there has got to have a cheaper, better, faster program. Let's make one...what do we have to do? In their course titles I did not see "Hardcore Bodybuilder Trainer" (HBT) That is what I want. I want to train people to get large. platinum IP: Logged |

I'm finishing up my certification from ISSA aswell, they are the best and most recognized. I'm currently training 3 wealthy early 20 year old females and 1 football player (mainly tinkering with his diet). I charge $60 for 3 weekly sessions, tax free (heh, heh). I know it ain't too much but it's cash. IP: Logged |

Do your self a favor and get a certification as a Strength and Conditioning coach. You can make more money as a personal trainer, but will be more respected in the fitness world. The personal trainers I know, like from ACE and from ISSA, know jack about real traning. I first got certified from ISSA, then I got my C.S.C.S. from the NSCA. Go with NSCA or ASCM for a certification. It may be a tad bit harder, but in the long run it will pay off. IP: Logged |

Hey, I have to disagree with you Primo57, ISSA IS respected BUT the most respected, well-organized and accredited certifications are The American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and the American Council on Exercise (ACE). However, if your just going to be doing one or two private clients as a side thing any certification will do, just dont expect to get too far with it. Cheap means bad in this business. ------------------ IP: Logged |

Omegalos is right, ACSM is the best for those seeking a career, but most of the average joes and joettes looking to "get ripped, etc" see the ISSA and ACE ads in magazines and on ESPN, so they recognize the name. The info, was stuff I already knew and/or disagreed with. But, they gave me a half off deal, which by all means served the purpose I was looking for - cash on the side/and written justification of my fees. BTW Omegalos - Kaz was one of the guys who helped shape many of my ideas on training, nutrition, and gear- I trained with him for a few months before his divorce. IP: Logged |
