A COMMENT BY ADONIS CAUSED ME TO OPEN THIS DEBATE. HE CLAIMED TO HAVE A 29 INCH WAIST. I THINK PEOPLE ARE VERY CONFUSED ABOUT WAIST SIZE. A STRONG WAIST IS BIG LIKE ANY MUSCLE. IF YOU DO NOT BELIEVE ME TRY TRAINING YOUR ABS AND OBLIQUES HARDER AND WATCH YOUR SQ GO THROUGH THE ROOF AS WELL AS YOUR ATHLETIC PERFORMANCE. A SMALL WAIST W/NO OBLIQUES IS VERY USELESS TO A RUNNING BACK THAT IS TRYING TO RUN WITH 300LB GUYS HANGING OFF HIM. A SMALL WAIST IS OF NO USE TO A STRENGH ATHLETE. I AM NOT KNOCKING BODYBUILDING I AM JUST STATING A POINT. ANYONE WHO HAS A 29 INCH WAIST LIKE ADONIS AND THINKS THEY ARE STRONG I WELCOME THEM TO COME TO A STRONGMAN COMPETITION. PICK YOUR POISON, JUST DON'T THINK YOUR A BILL KAZMAIER WHEN YOUR WAIST IS 29 INCHES. HERE IS A PIC OF BILL 7% BODYFAT AT 330, BY THE WAY HIS WAIST IS OVER 40 INCHES.

330 pounds vs 217, thats a big difference in size. My waist is only 29 inches, and my sides are shredded as well as my abs. Can't complain about my strength, as I can curl sets with 145 lbs, and shoulder press 205 for 4 reps. IP: Logged |

CURLS ARE NOT A POWER MOVEMENT AND IN NO WAY SHAPE OR FORM AN INDICATION OF STRENGTH & ATHLETIC PERFORMANCE. NEVER HEARD OF FOOTBALL PLAYERS BEING TESTED ON THEIR CURLS. IP: Logged |

But for a body builder, the smaller the waist the better the v-shape, plus you can find size 31 easier than size 40+ IP: Logged |

Great picture of Kaz. He was truly unbelievable, and his back in this picture would be the envy of many a high-level BBer. Many BBers have 40+ waists as well. Onlythestrong, you are pretty strong for a BBer, but Monstrosity was talking about guys who train specifically for strength. I'm fairly strong as well, but I know I would bomb out badly in any kind of strongman event. IP: Logged |

addoniss can suck my 29 inch **** i currently know probably 200 muscle heads from 180-365 lb 95% juiced and not one has a 29 inch waist measure your waists tonight you would be surprised i wear 34 in jeans 36 in dress pants. My waist tape measured not sucked in is about 40+ i have a bodyfat of about 14%-16% 250-280lb so what size jeans does he wear 26-27 give me a break . although if asked i say my waist is 34 because generally that is what people go by the size pants they wear IP: Logged |

Lets be real about Adonis for a second. A 29 inch waist with a 53 inch chest! Im no expert but thats too big of a drop. I could sit here and tell you i have a 53 inch chest, which I do. This would seems impressive until I mention that my waist is 45. I could tell you that its 38 because I have one pair of jeans thats a 38 but measured correctly my waist is 45. I could also tell you my arms are 19 inches, which they probably are after I train arms. A real measurement NOT EVEN CLOSE. My point is you can make stats say whatever you want more so in cyber space. ------------------ IP: Logged |

I am curious as to how someone can fit a set of large quads into a pants for 29" waist. My waist is 34, but i almost always have to buy 38's or 40's because I cannot fit my legs into anything smaller. VDEVIL IP: Logged |

VDEVIL I am in the same boat. It takes me 4 hors to find a pair of jeans that fit. I then need to find a belt to conch them up b/c the waist is 4 inches too big! AAAAAHHHHHHHHH IP: Logged |

Buy boot cut jeans. They are wide at the bottom and they are lose in the thighs, but they aren't super baggy and look like they are going to fall off. You don't have to tighten the belt too much at the top. They are good for anyone whos legs flare out. IP: Logged |

Adonis has been struck with the computer-muscle bug. When this happens, the user feels the need to create stats out of thin air, but what he doesn't realize is that some of these stats don't add up (53inch chest drops to 29 inch waist) Did i mention that ive got 36inch quads? Yeah, yeah, i know, it is tough to walk, but man, they're great. And im too scared to measure them when they're pumped. 40+? ------------------ IP: Logged |

You can count on one hand the number of guys with a 53" inch chest and a sub-30" waist measurement...one that comes to mind is the Pro BB Brian Buchanan, that guy had a tiny wasp waist that almost looked to small, it does start to make one look almost a bit frail--still for a BB the smaller the better as far as the waist goes is the general rule for creating the most impressive proportions and creating the illusion one's other bodyparts are bigger than they really are...if you really have those measurements more power to ya, but they are rare. Most of the freakin' Pro BB these days have huge, although ripped, waists due to the abdominal distention brought about from GH therapy. IP: Logged |

You guys have to understand that when your talking about waste size, wer'e not asking pants size. I can wear 33 inch waste pants, but i know for a fact with a tape, my waste is a tad over 34. Dont get pants confused with tape measurements. Im at 215 pounds with 7.1% BF so you would have to be very big up top if you were over 200 with a 29 inch waste(tape measurement mind you) IP: Logged |

All I know is the bigger I get, the bigger my waist gets. At first I freaked out, but as long as everything is still in porportion it's no big deal. I still feel bad though, every bulking cycle I have to go buy new shorts and jeans! BTW I wear 32 jeans at 210. One of these days I'll finally get a tape measure- IP: Logged |
