I understand that some of you guys live in SoCal...so do I. I am scared shitless to go down into Mexico to get it myself (if I get caught, my career is down the drain...I'm not afraid of jabbing myself, but I know I'd probably pass out or sweat bullets at the border...even after a few drinks), and I was just wondering, what the standard markup is to have someone else get it for me, and if it is possible to have someone get it for me easily? I'm not asking for sources, I'm just wondering if anyone else pays another person to get it for them... I hope I am not out of line, and I apologize in advance if I am. My suggestion would be to get over your fear and make the drive!! The TJ/San Ysidro border is the busiest border crossing in the world. They don't have the capability or luxury of devoting time to each person crossing the border. Just hold up your license and say "United States" and you're set. it wouldn't do wonders for my career if I got caught, but I have had no problems so far (in 7 years of making the voyage). If you still can't bring yourself to make the trip, you can typically expect to pay twice the purchase price to get your gear. You still run the risk of finding a reliable mule that knows what gear you want, how to identify fake gear, and isn't an undercover officer waiting to bust your ass. IP: Logged |

Well, because of what I drive, I definitely can't drive across the border...I'd have to walk, and I doubt somebody would let me borrow their vehicle. Another reason I had asked the question was because since I have never done this, I can't trust myself to know what's real and what's fake...I could sit here for hours (which I've done) and study what I think is real and what is fake but I know that under the gun, I could probably get duped (based on past luck experiences)... I could go with a native...that's a good idea, but again, I play the cards with real and fake gear...how would they know any better...? And ouch...twice as much is a killer... Hey bro, listen, I'm down in Laguna Beach every once in a while and I have a bud and he has bud's who take the drive once or twice a week and do all their shots there before coming back. It's a totall waste of time but, if it's worth it to you then theres an option. Good luck Young1 IP: Logged |

Well a lot of fakes are pretty easy too tell. Some are faked more than others, some are high quality fakes, you get the point. I would research which stuff you want to get and get pics of the real shit. That's what I would do. The WAR has some info on fakes too, but it is kinda old. IP: Logged |

i was hung up on the same dilemma but was more worried about car than the border...you can get mexican insurance up to $18000 and it cost me $20/day..just go in early in the morning unless you know where you were going and find a cool pharmacy in ensenada, get your shit and come across at about 9 or so get to the border at about 7:30-8 if on a weekend...long lines, line up in between some big possibly tinted vechiles and go in with the attitude that your not gonna get caught, also bring a girl and cross like you guys are in love and spent the day on a beach... mine was cool and wore a revealing top so the guy was too busy drooling to care also buy some candy or other little shit from those beggers that are at the border to claim something...btw people have no concept of lanes down there so stay alert and you will be fine, maybe take some ephedra while driving in town but the highway are ok IP: Logged |

ok pubert listen up, what do you want to get fisrt of all(what kind of gear) i can give you exact locations on were to get it but you have to tell me what you want. 2nd. ok you said with the type of car you have you can't take. i guess it's an expensive car.. well what ever... get down there how ever you do it. you get your gear, you come back towards the border and there's a bunch of cabby's there waiting to take people across the border, but you have to find someone who can go accross, i don't know if all of them do or not but find one. you ask him if he can mule it over but you don't go with him in the cab. you go in your car and he goes in his cab across the border. of course he has a small price to ask but belive me (not that i've been caught, knock on wood) but it's better than being caught. what you do is pay him half then and half when you recive your gear. i don't know how far cabby's can travel into san diego but there are a few fast food places around there. before you go across the border make sure what places are around the border(mcdonalds,carls jr whatever) make sure the cabby knows were it is or else what good is all this. once you guys are both in the parking lot of the fast food place (you tell him this in tj before you cross back to the u.s.)and you both see each other go to the bathroom and make the exchange there.if there's people in there work around it. i can't tell you everything to do but this should give you an idea of what to do.

I've gone many times driving across (at least 10 times) and all they ever do is ask you to look in your trunk. If you don't wear tight clothes and aren't huge then you've got no problems. My girls a jewel too and she actually drives the car and looks soooo innocent that they never think of us. E-mail if you need anything else. IP: Logged |

About four more months and I am going to be about an hour from the border. I'll have to make the drive myself. I know it's gonna be hard but it probably gets easier as you make more trips and get more experienced. I wouldn't borrow a car if I were you. What if they asked for a title and the names didn't match? That's just drawing extra attention to yourself. I say plan a trip with you and your buds to go down for a weekend. Don't tell them and sneak some gear in a panel of the trunk or under a seat or something. It probably wouldn't hurt if you had some girls with ya. hell, what am I talking about? Damn, I knew you guys would be a wealth of information! JR, thanks for taking the time to write that. When I am done researching and have made a decision, I will go to you then, but I haven't decided what to do yet...I'm still reading and learning. If you don't mind, can I ask for your opinion on a first stack? My vehicle has been pulled over twice in TJ and once at the border because it is a low rider, the interior is modified for electronics so they think I have money...I've lost about $40 per each pull over and nothing at the border. I think they are just being dicks, but that is why I don't want to take my car down there. When I was in school, I went down there religiously for the clubbing. I quickly learned not to drive though! About that cabby idea, I assume you've done this? I would think that a smart cabby would take your initial deposit, and then the gear and run for it...that isn't true? I asked this question in another post but I will ask it here. What if I rent a car and take it down there, stash the gear in the car and drive back...if I get caught can I claim ignorance and say that I've never seen the stuff before in my life, and that its a rental car?
