I was due for my weekly shot of Deca yesterday so during the day I go to a pharmacy to get a few syringes and needles. A fat smug old bastard emerges from behind the counter. I tell him I want 6 x 2.5ml syringes and 6 x 1.5 inch 22 guage needles. He seems to understand and brings me 6 insulin syringes. I took one look and sent him back. He returns with the correct syringes but instead of 1.5 inch needles he brings me 1.25. I send the old fart back again. He then brings me a strip of needles that were not marked but look the right size - he promises me faithfully that they are right, so I take them. I get home and prepare as usual and as I remove the cover from the needle this puny pathetic three-quarter inch 24 guage needle stares me in the face!!! I had to miss my shot yesterday and will have to go back, get the right needles and try again tonight. He was obviously aware why I needed the syringes and needles. Was he screwing with me on purpose? If that bastard had been standing next to me last night I would've stuck that friggin needle in his eye!!! IP: Logged |

Not in South Africa. I think this is just common sense. They'd rather give you access to clean needles than have you use old ones and risk infection, hepatitis or HIV. IP: Logged |

Do what I do, go to the local grain and fertilizer place and by them, 3cc/a detachable 18gauge pin. Good for drawing. Replace the 18 with a 22, and do the do. If they ask, just say your giving your dog a shot. 30 cents a piece. Usually they won't ask. IP: Logged |
