I am currently on a cycle and wanting to join the Maines or Navy. Does anyone know if they test for gear during the medical exams? I do not use street drugs so the normal drug tests will be cool, but just don't want to screw myself. I also do not want to wait 'til it clears my system. What do you think guys? Ian IP: Logged |

Ian, Listen bro, I wouldn't worry too much about the drug tests for the military as far as AS are concerned. They are mainly testing for the hard stuff like cocaine, heroin, and MJ (not that a little weed is hard stuff...). The only thing I would advise against would be the use of Insulin if you are doing anything like that. When you take your piss test they are going to test it for blood sugar using litmus paper. You don't want to come up looking like a diabetic. In fact, AS and the military are pretty compatible although if I were offering my advice speaking as a veteran, I would stay the hell away from the fucking Navy. (no offense sailors.) Talk to Ranger and Arm E Man. What do you want to do in the military? If it is any kind of Elite force-type work let me tell you, it sounds alot cooler when you are hearing about it. 30 mile road marches and no sleep for days at a time, jumping in the freezing fucking cold, and being wet and miserable are not some of the most pleasant times I've had. Although one thing is true, there is a certain nobility in suffering with your buddies when you know there are pussies all over the world who are crying and whining about the US and how their "freedom is being threatened". Anyway, sorry I got off on a rant for a minute there. You should be fine. Just be smart. Don't go out and get high the week before you join or any stupid shit like that. Good Luck and Keep your feet and knees together. IP: Logged |

They don't test...unless they would have GREAT cause....ie.....you brag about it to everyone.....don't keep it in the barracks if you cycle while in. If your looking for a trade, for civilian life...go Air Force......If it's the excitement your looking for.....anything in the Special Operations community would suit you to a tee!! Tis a far better thing to be airborne, or scuba....than be a leg, and common air breather(CAB)!! Don't sweat the test Bro! The military is in great demand right now for bodies.....The Army is offering huge signing bonuses right now....good college fund...BUT....Make it your choice, and GET IT in writing!!! If I can help...e-mail me Bro!! Arm E Man....fuck you....I'll post that love letter you sent me!!!...heh heh heh heh....just kidd'in Bro....it was a good one.... The only thing that you might have to worry about is if your taking in a lot of protien. I seen a guy get DQ for having to much protien in his urine. IP: Logged |

What up RANGER & ARM E MAN I knew I 'd find you here!!! Well I know We addressed this question before. Ian, bro, It all depends on what you are taking, and how long you wait. They test random samples for intitial entry. Know when you get to your unit the only time the will do a test is if they have suspiction. What are you taking? I think it's deca that can be found in your system for a year. (I'm not sure about that one.) What do you plan on doing? If you want to conyinue lifting (well from my experiances) Infantry is not the way to go, I spend 9,or10 months in the field a year, plus the Fucking gay ass Balkans(although I did lift a lot in bosnia, Kososvo doesn't have the facilities yet but give brown and root a couple of months)and shitty Kuwait. DEath valley, JRTC. Well I can not tell you to go Infantry. I think Infantry chooses the man not the other way around. Peace to my war dawgs, ------------------ IP: Logged |

One correction. You will be piss-tested at your unit every month or so if you are in garrison (unless that has changed in the last three years), but as previously stated, it will not be for AS almost always. As far as the infantry, I, as stated before would recommend staying the fuck away from, unless you really feel you must prove something to yourself inside. Only you know the answer to that. If Spec Ops is the way you want to go, go the Pararescue, or Combat control route. This is the Air Force Spec ops. You still get to do the high speed shit, without having to live in the worlds shittiest barracks, and without being "tasked out" to do shit like clean up peoples fucking trash after a hurricane, ect. If either Ranger or Arm E Man are in the Regiment, I would have to ask if you know a close friend of mine who recently left 3rd BAT. His Name is SSG Brent Jessen. Let me know fellas. Anyway, talk to all the recruiters, but talk to them after educating yourself about what each service has to offer. The college fund is awesome and it has paid for my last three years of school. I will be pretty broke when I stop getting my $930 a month in May. All the Way, IP: Logged |

Thats good to hear Bro's. I have been tested before and was wondering what would happen if I were to ever get on a cycle and have to take a piss test for the Army. Didn't realize their were others on here in the service. I guess I'm not really in the military anymore, just in Reserve/College student. My $.02 Join Air Force. I know we always make fun of them in the Army, but its all because were jealous. (or at least I am) But its good to hear military doesn't test for AS in the normal piss test. In case I ever were to do a cylce some day. Hhoooaaa IP: Logged |

Hey Bro, I was in the Navy. I was assigned to VFA-86 an F/A 18 squadron and I loved it. We went aboard the USS America and toured the Med seveeral times. One really good thing about the navy is that you TRAVEL ALOT! That means you go into different countries once to twice a month. (Turkey, Greece, Spain etc...) They all have pharmacies that you can buy almost anything in. Another GREAT thing about the Navy is that you dont go through customs coming back in to the US. I am not saying you should join the Navy but it does have it's advantages. ====================== JOJO IP: Logged |

Airwing is an alright way to go, pretty lax unless someone just gets off the drill field and has a wild hair to start all kinds of b.s. All i can say is if you go to the wing side, go avionics. anything else and the outside world has trouble understanding what you did while you were in. "what do you mean you loaded bombs on the plane??? and then what??" lol. poor ordys. infantry is good to go if you like deploying and cleaning rifles. thats all i saw those guys doing on my westpacs. go to the gym, clean rifles and wait for chow. lol. i sometimes wished i was doing that instead. there are pros and cons to going in or staying out. you gotta find what suits you. im speaking from marine experience of course. blue side or army dog side is not known to me. but we all know about air force...ah that must be the life....lol. peace! ------------------ IP: Logged |

Hey Bro, Trust me Air Force is the way to go. As far as the Marines, Army and Navy go. What if your on a cycle and you have to go to the field for a couple weeks? You won't be able to eat but probably 3 meals a day and they'll be MREs. If your in the Army living in the barracks you have to live with other folks sharing rooms and that sort of bullshit. You get treated like crap in the Army. Marines I have some respect for them. As far as the Navy goes I'm not down with being on a ship with other guys for months at a time FUCK that. I'm In the Air Force. Stationed in Germany I have my own place with my wife. I can if I wanted to get get gear from Greece, Spain, France like walikng into a candy store and they don't test you like everyone else said except for wacky tabacky (weed, endo what ever you want to call it) I work 7:45 to 4:45 Mon- Fri weekends and holidays off. I get an 1 hour and a half gym time it's the best set up in the world. Go Air Force. IP: Logged |

First off let me say being in the military is dealing with a whole lot of bullshit. Every service seems to have their special bullshit. Everyone in any givin service will try to sway you to theirs. I am in the navy, although the navy has not done anything really bad for me I don't really think I'll be re-enlisting. BTW I am a crypto-geek with a TS clearence which will get me plenty on the outside. If you like manual labor, hey good for you but every service has desk jobs. Although I personally know a marine linguist that went to wash trucks after the marines spent over 200,000 on her training. She went to wash trucks... ooh rah whatever. I am not saying join I am not saying don't. You will discover a lot about yourself that I am not sure you would on the outside while in the forces. But keep in mind the bullshit you will endure as well. To be quite honest I am not sure where I am going. Anyone that has served will usually tell you it was one of the best things they ever did. For me it was. Do I want to keep on like this for the rest of my life? No... most definitly not. Especially not in the intel community... Flame ON! IP: Logged |

I was in the Marines for 6 years. I did get tested twice for AS, but I was also in a unit that reguarly tested all the "big guys." We had a prick for a 1stSgt who couldn't even do one pull up! I read on a different post that the only way you can detect AS in your system is through a blood test. That's bullshit! I tested positive once in a urin test for nandralones (but they have to be looking for it)(plus they sent the sample to the lab at UCLA.) I do have a copy of the results if anyone would like to see it. Luckily I passed it off as Norandrostein because they didn't want to spend that money again to retest me. It all depends on what unit you are in, what your MOS is (military job) and how much money your unit is alloted in funding. But overall, most units at least in the marine corps over look it as long as you are not out in the open about it. Now if you get caught with it in your possesion, that's a different story, 1st they will give you a urin test, then to back up the results they will give you a blood test. And in the Corps, you don't have a choice! GO TO COLLEGE ... GET BIG .... AND GO PRO! IP: Logged |

go air force!!! i was in the air force for 8 years, only got tested 4 times on random drug tests. the air force is a s close as you can be to being a civilian. i was single and moved off bas as an e-3. didn't have to stay in the dorms like the army and navy guys. believe me....army guys have it rough. i use to be a flying crew chief on c-141's and we would go up to ft. bragg to pick up the airborne up there to jump out of our planes. while they were out in the field camping for a week.....we were put up in our own hotel rooms. hahaha you pick: hotles or tents.
