Ok the story is as follows: The needle: 23G 1 inch, the syringe both 3cc and 5cc's. I doubt this is where the problem stems from. Up until about 8 weeks or so back I was concentrating on quad injections and had no problems, no pain nothing. I then started shooting the glute because I injection volume was too high to only use quads. So I started using the glute and was happy. The problem now is whenever I go to do the quad I find it very hard and painful to push the pin in, which I do very slowly and can feel pain until it is in all the way. Once in then the problem stops and no problems emptying the syringe in my quad and withdrawing and no pain afterwards. Help! Are you doing the right area of the quad for a start? They do tend to hurt more anyway. Outer quad about a handspan up from the knee? I use a blue 1 1/4 (23g I think?) although I have used green 1 1/2's (21g)

Try holding ice on the area where you're going to inject for a few minutes. This will help get the pin in. After you get the pin in you shouldn't feel pain.

If you used to be able to do it with no problems then it is one of two things. 1. Different gear that causes more pain for longer at the injection site. I reckon number two as I know that you know your gear. I have the same problem at an area of my backside that I used quite a lot.

quote: Hehe, I tried a 25G once but after sitting there with a pin in my quad for 2 minutes and finding it alost impossible to push the enanthate out I gave up with an extra hole in my leg. I had a few probs with syringes though (harder to push on the plunger). I was thinking about trying delts and am still considering it. Strenght you are correct, both times was with Testoviron depot so I am guessing the 2nd option. Thanks guys

I have always put a very small amount of triple antibiotic cream in the injection spot before I do-don't know how much it helps but after running the pin under steaming water-it slides right in-I use a 22gg 1" most of the time for quads. ------------------

I would say that you may have a build up of scar tissue there mate, though, that shouldnt cause extra pain, it would just cause the needle to be harder to push through it, I have a lot of scar tissue in my ass from 10 weeks of virormone at a shot a day !! I find if i pull the skin tight then put the pin in quick it dont hurt going in so much then. P.s thanks for the reply to my sust post, sadly it was 3 days since i posted it and i cant retrieve it now. Thanks anyway. BBigman2000

Hey bro... DO NOT put any ice on the area before you inject... this will only make the capillaries and muscles shrink up due to the coldness... if anything, apply some heat just prior to the shot... also, don't put the pin in slow... the slower, the more it's gonna hurt.... pretend it's a dart, and just shove it in... hurts a lot less.... then inject slowly which will greatly reduce the pain, then massage the hell out of the site after ya pull out the dart...

Yep, I confer with RJNCMEDIC.... you will find that all health professionals will use a 'stabbing technique' for I/M shots. Just imagine you are throwing a dart, trust me, it will hurt much less. ------------------

I'm using test ethanate, at present and it is a sluggish type push. So it goes in the glut, 5cc's at a time. Also I only use monoject (best needles in world period) needles and move up to 21g 1 1/2/ inch. Also your stick should be deliberate and fast, like tearing off a bandaid. Pushing the needle in slow will hurt a lot more than a very deliberate stick, ASPIRATE, and firming squeeze the juice in, remove the needle quickly, and firmly hold the injection site with a alcohol prep for sixty seconds. I like to rub the site, I belive it helps distribute the juice and minimizes pain.

I pull the skin tight too b4 I inject. It's weird, sometimes it hurts and sometimes it don't. But I rotate between 2 areas on each quad. Upper outside and lower outside so that you have 4 separate quad areas to use. Then I'll go to the glutes for the next and then back to quads. So you're not hitting that same quad spot again for a while. I think 23 1.5 is the best to use for test in the thigh and quads. Somebody said 25 guage for test thigh injections? That's nuts. I use 25s for Winny and for anything else that I site inject (prop, etc.) ------------------

I would echo just jab it in quickly-but carefully. Also if one leg hurts, try the other.

I will also echo I have been using the same injection technique for a while and have only been having problems recently. Someone suggested using a 21G! If it is hurting with a 23G what will the pain be like with a 21? Thanks for all the help, I will see if heating it up and pushing in faster makes a difference. Peace |
