OK, Im still learning about AS some so I can't really help anyone else out here on the board about that stuff... yet... So I'll share some info on some things I do know. I hope when you are talking about gear you are using some kind of Encryption program. I found a great Free one thats small to download for us 56kers. Its called "A-Lock" Its very simple to use with Outlook, Hotmail, etc... You and your contact will both need to program. You can get it at download.com: http://download.cnet.com/downloads/0-10105-100-1400441.html?tag=st.dl.10001-103-1.lst-7-1.1400441 Does anyone else know of any other kinds of encryption programs, and do you like it? Also, if you ask someone if they are affiliated with law enforcement in any kind of way, they have to tell you they are or else it's Entrapment. <peace> Private Idaho rocks for encryption. It encrypts and also uses anonymous remailers....so the email can't be traced (easily). </peace> ------------------

Cool... Is it free to download? The trick is to be able to have someone on the other side of who knows where to be able to get it also so you both can use it. How big is the file? Thanks =)

PGP is the most well known and widely used email encryption. The guys at MIT developed the algorithm for it. The only problem is that the shareware version is 7MB to download. When your trying to get a contact to use it. They may not be willing or able to download such a large file. Thats why I posted the "A-Lock" program for this reason. It's not near as nice and fancy as the PGP, buts it does the job and it takes less than a minute to download on a 56k. Thanks for the input... |
