I know, I know.....not another bench post!!! More far fetched garbage numbers from welfare rat lying posters!!!

I go to a pretty large club and when anybody puts 365+ on the bar everyone takes a glance. The biggest bench on our gym is in the higher 400's.

I have never ever seen anyone bench more than 315lbs at either my previous, or my current gym. I personally struggle to push 225lbs for a couple of reps, and I'm not a small guy (I'm not HUGE either), but anyway, I don't believe half these posts that claim superhuman benches...

I've seen many go over 400 here at school. 2 d tackles here are in the 500's, but they are meatballs. At my gym at home a few ppl do sets with 3 plates on either side thats about it. I hear alot of real big guys go to the golds though. Most i ever got was 385, im hopin to get to 4 plates before I break my cherry.

I work out at a gym that is farely decent sized. I just started working out with this guy who just moved there. When I did a four plate max there were quite a few people watching. I think that at 6'5, 285lbs, and nineteen makes me one of the top three or four in my gym. But this guy has me spotting him at 465 while he does 5 or 6 reps!!! He is pushing me so my goal is to press out 465 for 1 by my twentyth b-day (april 23) wish me luck.

The average for the non-juicers is around 225 for a few reps. There is maybe a couple of us that can get into the four hundreds.

385lbs for 2 reps. I weighed 220lbs mind you.
And I work out at my Uni, and since I'm the strongest
person at my gym, nobody really stares anymore
as we pretty much know each other there. If they're
new to the gym they always stare. I hate that, as it
makes me lose my concentration Women ALWAYS
stare. Male strength is something that amazes them for
some reason.

Today, there was some guy who was repping 295 incline, atleast 7-8 reps, without a spotter. The thing is, he couldn't of weighed more than 185. Which is around my wieght, but he's pressing 75 more lbs with more reps. I wish I would've seen his flat bench.

Mine -

Seriously, I have the biggest bench at my gym by far.

405lbs for a 1 rep max.

315 for a couple sets of 4-6 reps

And yes, it's the same at my gym. Everyone does stop and watch. makes me feel like a freak or something.

We have a few guys who rep 405 for 2 to 5 reps. I think maybe 2. I am the only one who I know of that grabs the 125lbs dumbbells. I put on 3 plates and people watch. There are about 6 of us who do 315.

I've seen 5 on a side but 4 on a side will get my attention. Impressive as hell to see 10 plates go up! Also have some serious deadlifters at my gym 600+lbs for reps.
In my gym there are only 10-20 who juice and you can tell who they are at a glance. Either 185# or 240+, kinda funny really.

The biggest and most jacked guy at my gym can put up 435 for one clean, slow, and controlled perfect rep. Also, believe it or not he's doesn't juice! I'm sure he did in the past buy since I started worked out there I've never seen him juiced out. By the way, he's holding a little too much bodyfat, but it looks good on him because of his shape.

bros dont mean to ruin the thread but a strong bench is like saying I curl 225, or squat 600, I mean dont you guys realize its not how much weight you can push, its what you look like, like arnold said"guys use to say arnold you only curl 60 lb dbs, and I can curl 100lb db's, but you have 22" arms and mine are only 18" think about it, a strong bench is cool, but you really need to focus on having fullness, hardness, vascularity, and symmetry from the front, side, back and bottom front and back, is a 500lb bench gonna garuntee that? Its a multiple amount of factors, guys not just bench press.

yes, i'm the one mark4124 referred to...today i went 365 for 5, then 405 for 1, then back down. pitbull - how can you do 405 if you can only get 315 for 4-6. i know rep ranges vary with people, but i can get around 10 at 315 on my first set. But...how many of you guys can claim more than 3 plates on a shoulder press or 10 pullups with a hundred pounds hangin' around your waist, then go over and drop your ass to the grass with more than 450 lbs on squat?

Yea, I'm in Nebraska so of course I'm a Husker fan. My friend's sister dated Kyle for a while and said he's a hell of a nice guy. I have heard his bench is up around 600. It'd be nuts if he hit a big cycle.

Saw a guy at my old gym press 405 smoothly for reps. Claims he never juiced. Doesn't have that look. Plays Arena Football down in Buffalo.

Then we got Johnny K-9 who used to wrestle for various associations. He use to own the Badboys gym here in Hamilton. On very reliable source I heard from many people he was pressing well over the 600lbs mark. Held some kind of Canadian record. Yes, he was cranked.

CN1---the weight you move does matter in my sport. After chest tonight, all done with a 2" bar, I grabbed a pair of 120's (2" handles too) and took off down the road a way till I almost died. Turned around and ran back to the gym with them. Had to lay down for a while and puke...but that's besides the point. I also have lots of fun with my 700+lb tire, pulling sled, and pushing my truck uphill. Strength does matter in my sport. I don't look too pretty....but I am big and fairly strong for my size/training/age, etc...

I understand that you probably didn't mean to offend me or anyone else by your statement...and I didn't take it that way. Do not mean to offend you either.

Ill admit i suck, 2 cycles and i still only bench 185 max for 2 clean reps. But i have good size. There is only one guy at my gym that presses as much as all you gods do. A Romanian BB. He is 22 and a good freind. Hes lifted for ten yearsand juiced for 6 years. His weight is 290lbs off, i dont know on. But once a week he puts up 585lbs. for 4 good reps.

Some guys come in and I see them doing 405 for reps every Monday. That's the most I've seen anyone put up. I've never seen anyone max out. Of course I don't really pay attention to anyone, let alone the weights they are tossing around. From what I have seen, not many people benching go above 225, and most struggle for reps with that. I'm too busy blasting my arms on Monday to sit around and gawk at people. The thing that does catch my eye, is when I see some beasts walking around there, which are few in number.

Now I can tell you about some of the broads' asses I've seen while they're doing bent over rows, but that's a whole different story.

When I did 405 people stopped and watched, but then again I only weighed 190 and people aren't used to seeing a little guy handle 4 plates. There's a 230 lber that I lift with sometimes that can get 500. We had a friend that came in once and pressed 705. He won the heavy weights at the Arnold press competition a few years ago.

Impressive reading guy's, there are 300 memebers at my gym, I have the record for the gym at 407lbs for 1 clean rep, and my training partner is next at 396lbs, it then goes down to 374lbs, and after that there is no one doing more than 290lbs. I have been training for 3 years and am 270lbs at 14%bf and 6ft1" been juicing constant for the last 6 months, I feel a 440lb bench coming on by this xmas. Good luck guys..

My partner and I are the only double bodyweight benchers there...

Well, I put up 505 in January during my last cycle and about 10 guys came up to me afterwards practically asking me for my autograph! My gym is alot like the ones some of you guys mentioned, you put at least 3 plates on and people will start looking. I'm gonna be starting my next cycle soon so my goal this time will be 550 so we'll see what happens....

where i go now(LA fitness) 405+ is a big deal , at my old gym(Robertos) 315 was average and 500+ was pretty strong and 600 wasn't unheard of.

10 years ago when I was in High School I put up 295 @ only weighed 156lbs. I think that was pretty good for my weight. I stopped lifting for quite a while, Now I'm about 180 and can bench about 315.

I spotted a power lifter in my old gym single 600 on the flat. I have also seen a guy in the gym I train in now do 405 on a front press for shoulders for 8 with no spot. I myself gave 405 a shot last night on inclines but needed some help. I did get 365 for 5 on the incline after the attempt. One of my partners got 405 for a double on the incline. Everyonce in a while you have to max out just to satify your ego and to answer the famous "How much can you bench" question.
