What are others doing for hair removal...? I can use NAIR on my back - shoulders and arms and everything looks great... BUT on my chest I get all red and irritated... why is this? Shaving tends to be a problem becuase my chest bleeds a little...

Go see your local day spa, and get a professional chest wax the first time, don't do it yourself. You won't know how to do it effectively, and just experience pain of having hair ripped out of your body. If you have it done professionally, you will love the results, and decide to do it again. (Between $35 and $70) Eventually, you may want to give yourself a chest wax. Use one of only two brands: Parissa, or Moujan; prewaxed strips.

Well, this really isn't an AS category discussion, but here goes: Don't blame me if you don't like the results...remember, Glootz told you to go get it done professionally the first time. Getting your body to look great isn't cheap. I should know. Go to your biggest drug store ie: Longs, Rite Aid...Hit the aisle which has haircoloring, depillatories, Hair removal<<<that should be obvious. You want the box of strips-body, not bikini or facial size or the small bullshit. A box will cost you $5-8 (okay on your budget)? Warm up those strips prior to pulling them apart. A box is ample for your chest treatment. Make sure to place the strip on your skin folding down WITH the direction of your hair growth. Then remove the strip AGAINST the direction of your hair growth. Important; remove the strip quickly and deliberately, yea, I know it hurts, just think of doing squats with 50lbs more than your max...that hurts more. You get used to it. Use each strip and kind of overlap your next area, sort of like mowing the lawn, you overlap the last row you just mowed, so it comes out nice and even. Best results for me are methodically starting at the shoulders and going to the waist, laying strips horizontally, not vertically on my body. After your treatment, use the oil that they provide and liberally apply it to all treated areas. You are going to get red bumps anywhere from 3 hours to 24. Not to be alarmed, don't irritate the treated area, and moisturize it for the next week to prevent ingrown hairs. If you can find Tea Tree Lotion or Lavender Oil, that's even better. If you do it right, you will be smooth for 3 to six weeks, depending on your skin, coarseness of hair. Happy ripping!

I recommend sugaring. Had it done and wax and it look less time than wax. See if you can find a saloon that does it. Costs maybe $20-40 if you are REALLY hairy (like me), less if you just have a little growth. Ju8st call a bunch of local places and ask if they do body sugaring.

I agree with Glootz....spend the $ and have it professionally done the first time. From experience (I've tried it all), it is your best option.

I am not familiar with nads... is it just a cream like Nair....? just wipe on and wipe off...? or is it more like a wax that has to be PULLED... |
