I think it is another term for an easy curl bar.

<peace>

Yep, it's an easy curl bar.
Looks like a stretched out 'W'.

It's a worthless peice of trainging equipment. It might be better called an ego bar, as it allows you to lift a little more weight with less pain. However, that also directly affects the ability to have the top bicep heads contract, and places more stress on the brachialis.

It's not good for close grip benches either, it forces y ou to put your hands too close together.

MeanOne - I agree that a staight bar will give you a better peak.

I disagree with your statment about it being a worthless piece of eqipment though. The EZ-Curl bar can be used for a lot of great excercises bro.

About the only two exercises I can see it being good for would be overhead tri extensions, or lying tri extensions. Maybe you could list a few others that you use it for though.

Well, of course there are the 2 you mentioned. I have to use it for curls as I damaged the tendons in my right arm and the straight bar causes to much pain when it forces my wrist to pronate too much.
Otherwise I would use the straight bar. I also like it for upright rows and reverse-curls to name a couple off the top of my head.

the other type of cambered bar is the length of a standard oly bar but the bar sorta goes out in a U shape in the middle so you get an extra 3 or so inches of ROM on benching and Rows. It is good for lifters with a gut, because the gut normally cuts into the range of motion on bent rows. Otherwise is is pretty useless (some guys use it when doing shrugs, but a trap bar seems to work better).
