Hello, I'm totally new here and to the whole concept of bodybuilding. I'm 21 years old, 5'9" and a disgustingly thin 138lb. About a year ago, I purchased Anthony Ellis' manual, and I just now have decided I'm going to make a go at this. I've searched around the BBS and found nothing but negative comments about Ellis (he was on roids, what he did was impossible, etc, etc) and that is all fine. I'm not looking to achieve 30lb in 3 months, but geez would even 15 be possible? I eat like a bird now, and I've never lifted before. I figured I would go on the diet mentioned in his plan, stick with supplements like Creatine, Glutamine, and an MRP like Isopure, and I would go with his workout routine. (I spent the money on the manual, I may as well use it) If I were to drastically increase my calorie intake, eat 6 times per day, get about 250 grams of high quality protein daily, drink crap loads of water, sleep 8 hours a night, workout hard 3 times per week - and do this all consistently for 3-4 months...is it possible to achieve any noticeable results? I've been through a lot of hard times in my life recently, and I want to do something that will make me a happier person in the future.. I can't stand the thought of another summer embaressed to take my shirt off around the pool. Granted, I've started pretty late to achieve that goal, but better late than never I guess.. Thanks in advance to anyone that responds.

started late? just think what you'll say next year if u dont start something now. Do all the things you mentioned in your post and stay away from the gear for 6 months. Give your body a chance to grow naturaly first off. IT WILL. The hardest part is gonna be the diet, the gym is easy and enjoyable. Dont worry if u can only bench press 85 pounds or any of that shit. Make a plan, stick to that plan, You will succeed at that plan. Godspeed my friend ##spiderbaby##

One of the first things you should do is buy Arnold Schwarzenegger's Encyclopedia of Modern Bodybuilding. This book has EVERYTHING you need to know, whether you're beginning or competing. It is possible at first to make pretty big gains, but after a few months they taper off. Then you have to switch up your routine. It's all in there. You probably don't need 250 grams of protein at first, probably more like 1.2 grams per pound of bodyweight. Watch the movie 'Pumping Iron' too, it'll get you in the mood to lift hard. ------------------

Thanks for the encouragement.. I just hope that my obviously adverse genetics aren't going to beat me before I even step in the ring.. But I guess all that food will have to go somewhere
