Alright fourth week of practice and using all pads but shoulder, helmet and leg pads was worn. Well took a nice shoot to the rght hand side from an OL, well needsless to say I now have a fracture in my right side and tore some a my pec muscle. Not brusing yet, still waiting on seeing that. I went and lifted on Monday (this happened Sunday) barly got through my curls then went to bench. Bench went alright but the pain was a little too intense. Had to stop after that. Not only can I barely breath, but I am getting certian pains on diffrent movements. I am going to try to hit the upper body again tomorrow, anyone know anything better to do then just taping it up real tight??? And don't anyone say rest. It is rest that will keep people down and not exceed. I have been playing football for several years now with 2 disks gone in my lumbar region of my back so I know pain. Just needing a little help through this time.

Sorry to hear about your injury bro. The fractured rib is not too big of a problem...they usually heal without complications in 4-6 weeks...probably need to wear extra padding to protect the area though. The torn pec is another story. You really should lay off the bench and other exercises until it heals. Make sure you see an athletic trainer or physical therapist so you get it taken care of properly. Not that you couldn't handle the pain, it's just that I'm sure you don't want it interfering with your lifting for the rest of your life. Hope you heal up quick bro. Good Luck.

Aaheep LOL. Me and you are in the
same boat. Was playing football
(tailback), went up the middle cut to
the outside and got CRANKED by
a 290lb Linebacker(I'm 225 BTW).
Cracked 5 ribs. Still played the rest
of the game due to probably
adrenaline. I'm out 6 weeks mnimum.
The worst part is laughing, I swear it
feels somebody is throwing thousands
of darts at my rib-cage. And sleeping,
..........thank god for GHB.

Godspeed

Well Fonz I would be the one trying to hit you...Defensive End (Left side). I was coming around after stomping my lineman in front of me and going for the QB. Next thing I know out of no where a train blast me in my ribs the same time I am hitting the QB. Arm was up in the arm trying to knock his arm down. So I was wide open. My trouble is trying to breath heavy. Every time feels like my tittie is about to fall off.

make sure you apply ice the 1st 24 hours to
keep the inflamation down also let the pec heal at least a week and warm up good by using a machine for a light set.the pec could
heal in 2-3 weeks if you listen to me and take alleve 2 times/day.
