MY PROTEIN IS AWESOME. IT IS HARD TO MIX, BUT THAT'S THE PRICE YOU PAY FOR QUALITY WHEY PROTEIN. THE TASTE IS ACTUALLY QUITE GOOD FOR WHEY. I PUT IT IN MY EGGS THIS MORNING. DAMN, IT WAS GOOD. YOU CAN'T FIND PROTEIN LIKE THIS AT THAT PRICE ANYWHERE. THANKS STEW ------------------

I take OPTIMUM NUTRITION's 100% Whey protien http://www4.netrition.com/optimum_whey_page.html So far i cant find anything that beats it. It has more protien and less carbs, cholesterol, fat calories, and sodium than any other package. Plus it taste like all the rest... terrible. I usually gag halfway through a glass in the moring, isnt getting big great?

MM-- good point. I've ordered from www.proteinfactory.com and got a lot of protein for a great price. But when they send it to you in a big plastic bag tied in a knot inside a box, how the hell do you know you're not getting chocolate flavored dirt?
Elite Bodybuilder Posts: 938 |
Thats funny Stone Cold, I know sure as hell know I am not going to grow on any chocolate flavored dirt, well I don't know for sure Well anyways I just feel safer going to GNC or a supplement store and just buy it there no hassle, no wait, and you know what your getting. Mass Monster

STEW'S PROTEIN HAS A VERY MILD CHEESEY FLAVOR THAT IS EASILY MASKED BY WHATEVER YOU PUT IT IN. IT GOES REALLY GOOD WITH SCRAMBLED EGGS, OATMEAL, PEANUT BUTTER SANDWICHES (I SWEAR, MIX IT IN THE P.B.), AND MY FAVORITE PROTEIN SHAKE: 1 CUP PEANUT BUTTER BLEND ON LOW UNTIL CREAMY - DAMN, THAT'S GOOD SHIT! I ALSO MIX TWO SCOOPS WITH ABOUT A 1/4 CUP WATER FOR A SUPER HIGH, PURE PROTEIN PASTE. IT DOESN'T TASTE BAD AT ALL. I ACTUALLY LIKE IT. AND, POUND FOR POUND, IT IS VERY, IF NOT THE MOST, INEXPENSIVE FOR THE QUALITY. ------------------

Which sites? I have ordered from netrition.com and DPSnutrition.com and have recieved everything i ordered. Make sure you try to stick with name brands. Someone on this board told me that and I have been happy everytime. I think that with the type of people we have on this board we could put our heads together and come up with a recipe for protien bars. those damn things are too expensive. Ive tried many combos but they end up too soft. Anyone else tried this?

I got a free sample w/in 3 days of asking. The instantized did not taste so great, but the non-instnatized was the best I have tasted, and with vigorous shaking, easy to put down. Just my opinion, everybody has personal preference. Hawk

You pay for what you get. I like George's chocolate powder and he constantly has it on sale at very good prices. ------------------

quote: I use to use optimums protein..i stopped cuz i figured it wasnt that great. First off, it tasted to good which was a good sign that there was a lot of fillers in it. And, it is way too cheap to be good protein. I use protein factory now, tastes like shit. Hey, does anyone know if protein factory is as legit as they claim?

Dragon, I saw an independent lab assay of several proteins (paid for by some university, can't remember what journal I read it in) that showed Optimum wasn't too far off it's label claim. the only point they failed on was having about twice as much aspartame as claimed. The only others I remember reading about were Isopure (right on target w/ claims) and Designer. Sorry I can't think of the journal, maybe JOPERD? Hawk

I like stew's protein. If you read on the proteinfactory website, I believe they say that whey is clumpy. Mine clumped too when mixed with a spoon. However, in the blender, there were no clumps at all.

Stew's protein is awesome...mix it in a blender with skim milk, 1 tbsp peanut butter, half a banana and fat free chocolate ice cream, and you've got a shake that tastes better than a malted from the corner drugstore

Ok, I just came accross this thread and I thought for a while about how to address this issue. First of all, whey isolate clumps, concentrate does not, instantised isolate does not. I dont' know why you say that the instantised is clumping in your blender unless you are putting the powder in before the water/milk/juice. If you use too much powder per volume of liquid, it will foam. If you blend it for more than 3 or 4 short bursts, it will foam. It foams easily because it is instantised. The instantised does not mix with a spoon like I was told by the manufactorer before I ordered it. It also does not taste as good as the non-instantised. I will no longer order the instantised version for these reasons. You will not find ANY price even remotely to the price that I have been selling isolate for. The reason is that I order DIRECTLY from the manufactor (Armore Protienes of France) through their US distributor. I am making $1 per lb which is at a loss for me considering all of the expenses that I incur. I have said that this price is an introductory price and that I would raise the price some in March; however, I have decided to delay that. I do not mind all the time that I have put into this as I like knowing that I'm helping people out; I enjoy it just as I enjoy the way I started this business out, as a personal trainer company. In the future, I do plan to make a profit off of my sells. I am selling at such low cost now becaue I know the more people that try it, the more people will know how good it is. You can not please everyone... Most people buy whatever protein tastes the best or mixes the best because they dont' know anything about quality or are not commercially educated. I'll explain what I mean. I'll use the Optimum Nutrition 100% Whey Protein as an example of how uneducated newbies and even some more advanced bodybuilders can be when it comes to selecting a protein powder. Optimum Nutrition sells a whey protein product which they claim is 100% Whey Protein as evident on the label in large bold print. That is meant to mislead people into thinking that their product is of good quality. What they mean by "100%" is that all the protein that composes their powder originates from whey (not eggs, beef, milk, etc). Their 100% whey protein is far from one hundred percent. -Stew

i like stew's response. may give him a try. however, i mix mine with water, lactose intolerant you know, so what do you suggest since stew's has no flavor? right now i use eas simply protein. ------------------

Bro, I am not telling you just to try to sell protein, but I usually mix mine with water. The first time I tried it with water, I didn't like it and said I wouldn't do it again. But I ran out of milk and decided to mix it with water again. This time instead of using tap water, I used some water that I had in the refrigerator (very cold). It made a world of difference and now that's the way I perfer to drink it.

Stew's protein is the stuff. Mixes easy with a shaker bottle and has a faint taste. I do not mind drinking it with just water. You can mix it with anything. I like to put mine in a blender with water, a bananna and some walnuts. Good shit. Stew is an excellent business man and I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone. Later ------------------

To everyone that says it's clumpy, you must have awfully weak wrists. I mix mine up with a spoon. If your having trouble mixing it simply use a shaker or blender and your problem is solved. Quit making things seem harder than they are... ------------------ |
