Anyone have any ideas on how to combat elevated levels of cortisol when ending a cycle? If you just use clomid, you'll start producing test again, meanwhile the high cortisol will be breaking down muscle all over the body. Anyone know if Phosphatidylersine is effective at countering this?

Yes it is, but you have to take double the dose. High doses of glutamine work well for me. I also use insulin, but thats an advanced substance and I dont recomend it to a newbie.

cytadren is a cortisol blocker 250 to 500mg 2 days on 2days off 4-6 weeks should do the trick. Only one problem it is hard to find. Good luck.

Yes, however I've read that cytadren should not be used when coming off a cycle. Here is the exerpt I found out of the gainskeeper formula at //roid.com/gainskee.htm

It should be noted that the use of aminoglutethimide or Cytadren is NOT recommended. Cytadren may be anti-estrogenic, but it also inhibits the bodies own production of androgens, which is exactly what we don't want at this time.

The reason for loss of gains after a cycle is largly NOT a result of cortisol.

Granted, there are several factors causing the loss of gains but, I believe the two major concerns are to restore the hypothalamohypophysial testicular axis and to lower elevated cortisol levels. So if you deal with each individually, then the crash could be minimized.

Do you guys think cortisol runs wild for months at a time or something?

Stress increases cortisol levels to a high degree. So relax, stay calm, and take your steroids (I meant vitamins).

I not to sure you are correct that it inhibits the body's own adrogen production. If you stay on to long or take to much your body ends up producing more cortisol to combat the lower levels. Do you have any medical proof to back your statement up or is that just an assumption. I have used it in the manner I explained and have had great success maintaing the gains I made during my cycle. Also I got this information from very reliable source (they both placed in the top 5 in the Arnold).

No, but when natural test is down, the effects of cortisol is compounded. I buy glutamine from pro source online. Their own products are pretty good.

Any chance I can squeeze a chemical mechanism out of you on how glutamine helps?

Hey Lawnsaver, how much is double the dose? Would 800 mg/day of PH suffice?

And GH Kid, no I have no medical proof, I just read this on Stroyer's profiles page: //stroyer1.tripod.com

Is it right? Who knows? But if your taking it and getting good results, thats all that matters bro.

Andy, I completely agree with you, cortisol does not play that much of a catabolic role at the discontinuation of a cycle. In fact, I think people are wasting their time trying to block the effects of cortisol and lower the levels of cortisol. When the body senses cortisol is being disrupted in anyway, the body will adapt by either releasing more or becoming more sensitive to cortisol...personally I think it is a useless battle. Only in extremely high doses has cortisol been shown to cause severe muscle atrophy...so don't worry about a little increase here and there.

Not to jump on what someone else said but insulin is very effective in combating cortisol post cycle, stay with low dosages of Humlin R 3-4 iu 3 x per day will be plenty..
