I workout in the evenings so I don't get home to eat my post workout meal until 10-10:30. I know I need alot of carbs to recuperate but I'm worried about gaining fat from eating too many carbs before I go to bed. Currently I have been drinking a glass of grape juice and a protein shake with approx 45g of Protein. Is it Important for me to actually eat with this or not. Really I'm not even hungry by then. If I do need to eat something what kind of foods should I consider? Thanks. Chris

You are contradicting yourself. You are right your body does need carbs for depleted glycogen levels. I dont think grape juice is enough. I would add small servings of yams, oatmeal, or something like that. Since you are going to bed and you wont eatr for awhile, you are depriving your body, and wont reach it potential. I would say stay up a little longer and have a solid meal right after training and take a protien shake( isopure zero carb) right before bed. Your body repairs at night, you need to give it the stuff it needs.

drinking the grape juice is good, as long as it is 100% juice. but you do need carb along with the protein. you can do this by throwing a cup of oatmeal in with you shake in a blender.

I work-out late as well. I try to eat all my carbs during the day, before working out.
I usually eat a can of tuna with some egg-whites after workouts at night time. I got some shrimp (high protein, low in fat and caloroes) and had it with some cucumber and tomatoes.
Try the tuna with egg-whites one night, protein shake another, seafood another night.
I take ECA before workouts so i don't have much of an appetitie.

Hope this helps.

Hey e-man I just started eating shrimp a new way if you wanna try it. I've been boiling in water on the stove then in a bowl have some fat free philly creame cheese and parmasian cheese to dip it in. Tastes pretty good to me, let me know if you like it.

stick with lawnsaver on this one. You must replinish your muscles when they are calling for carbs the most, after a anaerobic exercise such as weightlifting. Dont over due it , but do exactly what lawnsave was saying and you will be alright!
