T"here is a rather safe, mild oral anabolic steroid called Oxandrin that has been prescribed for many years to male and female children with stunted growth and more recently to HIV patients with weight loss. The FDA-approved indication for Oxandrin includes the words "to promote weight gain ... in some patients who without definite pathophysiologic reasons fail to gain weight or maintain normal weight," so it would be legal for a doctor to prescribe it for you. -Dr. Michael Maroney"

A doctor can legally prescribe you anything he wants to. His biggest concern would probably be a future malpractice lawsuit. The FDA approves indications to help doctors make informed decisions on proven uses of drugs, but it does not regulate the doctors prescribing habits. A doctor can write outside of indication pretty much whenever he damn well pleases. However, a doctor could face problems with the DEA for a blatant pattern of inappropriately prescribing controlled substances on a regular basis (and anabolic steroids are class 3 controlled substances). | ||

<peace> They also have the ability to prescribe anadrol for red blood cell reproduction in cancer patients. And halotestin for breast cancer patients. My buddy who turned me on to this board has a prescrption for anadrol as we speak. But then he friggin' needs it. Went from 215 (5'6", 10% BF) to 110 in 6 weeks. |
