Arnold is overrated.In his day the guy trained 6 days a week(twice on each day)for hours at a time.That is chronic overtraining.But he got big because of good genetics and drugs.Dorian Yates on the other hand,trained 3-4 days a week and his workouts lasted 45 minutes tops! doing no more than 1-2 sets per exercise.You tell me who is the bigger and smarter one.Arnold can't act either and has a dumb accent.    | ||

Dorian hooked up to an iv every day, Arnold didn't. And I am not sure he would have. He was bigger than the sport , thats why he's were he's at. | ||

CN1,all I'm saying is arnold is not the greatest role model of the ideal BBer.He adopted a 'more is better'approach to training,and has a legion of BBers making the same mistake of overtraining,and wondering why they don't look like him.Dorian takes a 'less/infrequent,but more intense' approach to lifting, and in my opinion/experience that is the better of the two.And what BBing is today (and always was unless you're a natural)is about drug-enhanced physiques-not that i'm knocking the sport,it's just reality.By the way am i the only one who thinks arnold had puny legs! | ||

Arnold trained in a way that worked for him. Everybody is different. Arnold deserves much respect. He brought the world of BB to where it is now. Who knows who uses what. Unless you hear it from them, and even then it probaly is bullshit, don't believe it. Arnold's movies have been pretty successful, somebody must like them. I am one of them. | ||

sergio, what the hell are you talking about, arnold isnt a good or ideal role model for bb, you are out of your mind, the man first started selling training manuals to others who didnt know about bbing, bought up great amounts of real estate in california and is now rich as hell off it, made pumping iron, has done probably 30 movies, married to jfk's niece, has rubbed shoulders with the president and his council for fitness, started the special olympics, umm do I have to go on, he is a self-proclaimed millionaire, he has his own annual bb contest, makes several guest appearances, look I dont have to run it all down, but if anyone could do 1/10 of this shit they would be a role model, man you are a lost brain, I dont know what you think inside that head, they should have used you for the movie hannibal, but made it real when lector ate the brain, probably wouldnt of mattered you are already stupid as hell. Obviously you dont know about arnold, he lived without a telephone, refridgerator and bathroom until the age of fourteen, the man came from nothing bro, and is what he is, how is a man not a role model when he goes from nothing to anything he wants in the world? | ||

Sergio, you should look at it the other way around. Sure Yates had to put less effort to look great, with all the stuff now available. But, if he had been born 25 years earlier, then he would had to work as hard as the other guys did for a great body. And then my friend, he would probably not be a winner afterall. Or let Arnold compete now. As you say yourself, guys nowadays have better body's and train less and less hard. The only thing you forgot was that the training that Dorian did throughout his career to get him to where he was (to doing 1 - 2 sets per exercise) took years of doing higher # of sets per exercise. And enough 'bout Arnold he has paid his dues in this world. | ||
