I put this on the supplement chat room, but I don't think anyone goes over there anymore...
Since the most important time to ingest the proper nutrients is post workout, I've been looking into recovery drinks. I usually just take about 1.5 cups of grape juice and a protein shake. I recently purchased a case of the Worldwide Size Up 1000 drinks. These things are crazy. They have over 1000 calories, 50 g protein, 150g carbs, 40 g glyercerol, 4 g glutamine and all types of stuff in each bottle. I figured they're good after a shot of slin and also post-workout during the rest of my cycle.
What does anybody else think? Sound good? Any experience with these drinks?
Thanks

USMC? Let's see.... Uncle Sam's Misguided Children? Anyway, my gym sells several different types of premixed drinks. The one I usually go with is by American Bodybuilding Products. I forgot the name but it has 40 grams of whey protein, no carbs and no fat. It costs about $3.00 and I get a 10% discount for buying it by the case. American Bodybuilding sells another one with carbs added to it. They both help with recovery.

Very funny Amphibian, I got that on a shirt...
ANyway, the whole case cost 51.80 for 20 bottles, so its about 2.50 each, $1 less than GNC.
I remember hearing about the American Bodybuilding drinks, I just couldn't remember the name. Thanks, now I'll look into them.

A couple years ago, I would drink "Blue Thunder" by American Bodybuilding. I liked it alot..tasted good too and not too thick. It has both carbs and protein. Havent had one in awhile though, does anyone know if these products are very good?

The best recovery drink, in my opinion, is MASS RECOVERY by ABB. It has 35 grams of Whey protein ISOLATE, 60 grams of carbs...380 calories...NO ASPERTAME. If you really want to up the carbs with simple sugars, drink a CARBO FORCE (also by ABB) with it. It has 105 carbs...mostly dextrose I think.

The other product mentioned in this thread is called PURE PRO. This really wouldn't be a good post workout drink, as it has no carbs...unless you drank it with a Carbo Force, but that's a lot of liquid, and it would get expensive.

What do you guys think of mixing maltodextrin with protein shake for post workout...would it be just as good? I think this would be a cheaper route..any comments?

Taking the advice of those who I thought know what they were talking about on this board, this is what I took on a 4 week cycle of slin. after every workout (Humalog). 10 IU's, 75grams maltodextrin, 25 grams dextrose, right after the shot, 1 hour later Isopure shake mixed with skim milk.
