that's what I've heard, but it just doesn't make sense.... Anyone know the explanation of why it could have this effect?

A major metabolite of testosterone is dihydrotestosterone (DHT). Likewise, a major metabolite of nandrolone (deca) is dihydronandrolone. Propecia inhibits the conversion of test/nandro to DHT/DHN respectively. We all know that DHT is bad for the hair. Now, in terms of harshness on hair, nandro = DHT, test = DHN. Therefore, by taking propecia with deca and inhibiting the conversion to DHN, you leave the more harmful parent steroid nandrolone to interact with the hair follicle, potentially causing more damage than if you had not taken propecia and allowed the conversion to DHN to take place.

This may be a stupid question, but it there any research at all to back this up or is it mostly just a theory?

You cant be scared to try it yourself. But, by the way, I stopped propecia yesterday. Too many side effects. I have strong sexual disturbances and I am taking alot of test. Impotent or bald.. i would choose bald here is a great site to learn and order hair products through mail with a prescrition www.hairsite.com I am going to be using SAW PALMETTO instead and there is talk about people using MINOXIL as an oral pill. It's a fight but there are lots os things to try out there. Good luck. ------------------ MustangRacer27

There is indirect research to support the theories. That is to say that there is no research done on nandrolone induced hairloss because it would be very difficult to find funding for such a study. Researchers are not out there to try and keep juicers from losing their hair. When I say that there is indirect research, I am saying that there is research that shows that the binding affinities of DHT is about equal to that of nandrolone and that that of test is about equal to DHN. Basically, it is accepted that nandrolone is more androgenic than DHN, and there is research to prove this. In the gear world, there is mostly anecdotal evidence that deca + propecia causes hairloss. The theories as to why may be speculative but are based on the type of research mentioned above. [This message has been edited by Anabolicum Mister (edited March 08, 2001).]

Minoxidil orally is not to be messed with unless you really know what you are doing. Also, I believe that the drug manufacturer has discontinued this product (Loniten). |
