I thought this might be a good topic for this board as well. World Anabolic 96 quoting: "A few years ago, the Lancet Medical Journal of Englan reported that they found testosterone (the prototype anabolic steriod) to be a remarkably effective form of male birth control. Researchers conducted a 12 month study which included 270 men and determined that weekly injections of the hormone testosterone were 'safe, stable, and effective.' They discovered that weekly testosterone injections had a success rate of 99.2% as a birth control method. That makes it more effective than the birth control pill (97%) and much more effective than condoms (88%). The study also revealed that the effects of the contraceptive injections were entirely reversible upon sidcontinuing administration of the drug and that the testosterone injections produced minimal side effects." Any thoughts on this anyone?

THE REASON TESTOSTERONE IS USED AS A BIRTH CONTROL, IS BECAUSE IT SHUTS DOWN A MAN'S NATURAL PRODUCTION OF TESTOSTERONE. THEREFORE, REDUCING SPERM COUNT. BUT ARE YOU THINKING OF USING IT AS A BIRTH CONTROL METHOD?

No, I wasn't thinking of using it for BC, as I am already on it for other reasons. There is a dicussion on the dieting board involving BC for women and I thought this might be interesting topic for this board. I still have a hard time trusting in it after only reading the above study. Therefore, was wondering how careful I should be, and I'm probably not alone here?

they have test implants for birth control....but like any other form of birth control it's not 100% effective.

I agree that nothing is a 100% effective, but 99.2% is pretty damn close. Does anyone have anything to support or contradict the above study?

I heard of this about six months ago. They kept males on small doses of test for a yaer long study. I do not have any literature to back it up, but the study was succeful in reducing the sperm count. The doses they were taking were not even close to what body builders take, though. Nothing is full proof though. I wouldn't want to have a kid that was concieved while on gear with lack of medical research and all. Better to be safe than sorry!!

just get your blood checked, like an SMA-22..at least 4 times a year. That checks you liver, cholestrol , and alot of other things. In the US, its still waiting to get passed as a form of birth control. Studies are being conducted using the TESTOSTERONE patch. ------------------ MustangRacer27 |
