i want to transfer gear from an amp to a steril bottle so than i can transport it in an airplane. How would i sterilize it.. i read a post from a while back and someone suggested using a cologne bottle.... but how would you sterilize it... boiling it in hot water????? aky if anyone knows can you let me know.. thanks!     | ||

I WOULD MAKE SURE THAT YOU RINSE THE CONTAINER COMPLETLY WITH HOT WATER AND THEN I WOULD USE RUBBING ALCOHOL AND RINSE WITH THAT AND THEN LET THE CONTAINER DRY OUT. JUST A THOUGHT. | ||

I think there are better ways than that... alcohol would sterilize the bottle- but.. would the cap be airtight? all it takes is a few bacteria. an abcess would suck. | ||

Just use an already sterile bottle such as saline solution or a vial of bacteriostatic water. | ||

you could use acetone too....just be sure to let the bottle dry out completely in a sanitary environment, or heat the acetone off quickly on a stovetop using low heat acetone dries quite rapidly PA | ||

question... are you transporting glass amps? or full 10 or 50 cc bottles? if its just the amps you can throw em in your shampoo bottle... most likely they wouldnt get checked out... besides, if your using a saline bottle and they some how DO decide to check your bottles... they would see an oil in there an know something is up... i'd say use the shampoo bottle, but your call... remember, infection very bad! | ||

Try using a suntan lotion bottle then if they check it You might have a better chance ,try a Hawiian tropic bottle that shit is real oily. ------------------ | ||

Rinse it with bleach, then wash it with hot water to get all the bleach out, then wash it with alcohol, and let that dry on it's own. Alcohol alone won't kill all the bacteria, neither will hot water. The bleach will kill everything...just make sure you wash all the bleach out really good! | ||

pressure cooker at 250+ degrees for 30-45 minutes or better yet an autoclave if you have access ( but if you did i guess you wouldnt be asking the question ) |
