Dear friends and fellow athletes, I have said many times and would like to say again, that I think we have the best board, moderators, and members on the net. I sincerely appreciate everyone's participation as our community grows. When I created Elite Fitness, my goal was to create a community where everyone could discuss bodybuilding -- both the experienced and the inexperienced. On Monday of this week, our site hit a new record. On Monday we had 28,617 visitors who collectively looked at 428,380 pages. Now some of you may think that this is a bad thing. I, however, think that this is outstanding because it means our community is growing and that we are spreading the word about our particular brand of fitness to those who would like to ask, listen, and learn. Perceptions will never change unless we reach out and change them. With regards to posts vanishing prematurely, no one is more concerned than I am and our staff is working on a solution to address this problem. At this time, we do not know if it is a software problem or an administrative problem. What we do know is that our Board is likely the most active board to ever use this software, and that this software was not meant to handle as many users as it does. We will address this situation and bring you many new features in the process. I would like to address those of you who feel like the board is going down the tubes. I have said many times, this is not my board, or the moderators' board, it is our board. If we contribute good posts, then the board will be interesting. If we bitch and complain, then it will not be. Those of you that like chatting with the masses are encouraged to stay right here. Those of you that would like things to move a bit slower are encouraged to subscribe to Elite Fitness Select -- where more advanced topics can be explored in depth. To BigJay81 and the other handful of users who apparently hate this site. Please do not come here just to bash our community and encourage our members to visit an "exclusive board" that you plan to start in the future. I want to wish you the very best in your endeavors and I hope that your new board will be a resounding success. The more people we reach out to about our brand of fitness, the better. But Elite Fitness will never have a "members only" policy, because I want this place to be for everyone to come, ask, and learn. Well said George. With a board this size things are always changing. If you don't like elite now, wait a few months and the boards demeanor will become totally different. For every peak there must be a trough. I estimate about 2-4 months before everyone is claiming that elite is the best board on the net again. Good post George. I have bashed the board in the past and later felt it was the wrong thing to do. With the newbies gates being left open all the time, some things get a little redundant. But we also get new info and new perspectives. I was a newbie once who knew absolutely nothing about roids, just like most of the newbies. | ||

BigJay: I agree with you. There are problems on this board, and to be honest with you not everyone is going to be happy. I however, have a firm belief in helping newbies out, even if their quesitons are rather easy and trivial. (We all have to start from somewhere, and not all of them know how to do searches I guess) As to the comment about elitefitness being OUR board. I think that is a bunch of garbage. How can it be our board, when administration posts rules and regulations, and charges on the people of the board, without even consulting them? How about that elite section that George charges 39.00 for? Did we vote on, that? Nope, perhaps a better way to see who gets to join such a board, is to only allow people with (HIGH posts) access to it. The others can either not get access or not get posting rights. But this new route that I suggested would defeat the very purpose of creating the ELITE FITNESS SeLECT, because after all it is all about the $$$$, and not about what the PEOPLE really want. This is assuming most of the people that do pay for elite select dont want to. So I guess in response, I think it is more GEorge's board then our board. If it is ours, then lets work on a DEMOCRATIC way of thinking. Chances are this may get deleted, but at least I could voice my opinion for a while. In all fairness though I do think elitefitness is a great forum to learn, i just wish George really stood by the defination of "OUR" board.

FistFullOfSteel: I personally love this board, and have recommended it to many of my friends. I think however BigJay81 is arging the fact that if this board were to be founded on democratic principles, then why is there such a steep charge.(elite selecT) Is it elite select or is elite pocket select. If you actually call the elite the ones that post and help out you have a greater sample, then people who are just willing to shell out more money to this elitefitness company. H | ||

Hindustan and BigJay81, Yes, we do want to make money here and we we do not believe that there is anything shameful about this. After all, this is Elite Fitness dot com and that means commercial. This said, I am comfortable in saying that with over 150,000 pages hosted here, there is more free content at Elite Fitness, than on any other fitness site on the net. Try picking a fitness topic -- no matter how obscure -- I guarantee you will find it in the archives. This board and site are yours. Members help select other members to moderate the boards, members help us name the forums, members help us come up with the forum's subjects, members named elitefitness.com encrypted mail, members name and help formulate many Mass Quantities supplements. Members can create their own free web pages, read free articles, and get free encrypted email. Members can even criticize our company and me right on our own site. And members do criticise us all the time and instead of deleting these posts we usually respond to them. Try this on any other fitness board and see how long your post stays around. If this were not your board, I do not think a post calling our site "poop" would still be around. We have always had premium services here that cost money, and if a board like EF Select is not within your budget, that you do not have to pay the membership fee and may continue to enjoy the free forums. Bigjay, I realize that you and others may have been singled out by the "glitch"(which may be a system error or rogue moderator(s)). But it is my impression that you are being overly demanding of George. While I agree that censorship is the bane of the free exchange of ideas, there are rules on this site, no source posting, etc..., that limit speech. But they are rules that everyone who comes to this forum agrees, though as we have seen do not always follow. In addition, this site is free. Yes, george uses the site to make money- advertising his products, etc..., but the forum is still free. my personal take: there are far too many posts and topics that are NOT deleted that should be, but I am a big beleiver in self regulation- which is the reason for the rules and the various boards (where half of the topics posted on the anabolic board belong). I am in the technical field and I can tell you for a fact that it very well could have been a glitch. George owns a business that happens to be based on a website rather than a brick and mortar storefront. To attract attention to his site in the great void of cyberspace, he made a board that attracted the founding fathers (vets) of this forum. These vets laid down the ground rules early with Georges guidance. Those ground rules have pretty much stayed the same during the last 5 years. Hulkster, Big Canuk, and the like have long since moved on. But they were replaced with vets of equal quality such as Huck, E2, Macro, etc. who have carried the board into the next century. They were here for a common purpose....to learn. Never in the history of AS use has knowledge been so widely available. Up until only a few years ago, 99.9% of the millions of gear users in the world had not the slightest idea exactly what they were putting into their body. It was random, and it was dangerous. Now it is safe. Why? Because the .1% who are scientists and gurus have found this board and feel that they have a responsibility to help those who merely want to better themselves. So instead of bashing George, you should show him the respect that he deserves for taking such a huge risk in starting a board such as this. George likely had to risk a substantial start-up capital in developing this place. There are thousands of American and Canadian supplement companies out there. But how many of them allow their good names to be associated with anabolic steroids and other performance enhancing drugs? Not too many. Laws change rapidly in North America. George could have started this board along with a warehouse full of protein, only to have it shut down by a new internet law. He would have likely gone bankrupt. But George was lucky....the internet remains free. And you all are free to learn without persecution and ridicule that you would get anywhere in the world outside of a football locker room. Most of you knew nothing when you came here. Even the vets, albeit with a steep learning curve and the ability to search, were mostly dumb newbies at one time. I've watched plenty of them come and go. Only a handful every few months show up with 95% of their questions already answered. They stay around always seeking that final piece to the puzzle or for that breaking story such as the Myostatin anti-body. So George made most of you. You owe him more than you realize. You can bash him, but you are only biting the hand that fed you in the early days of your AS education. Where would most of you be without this board? Would you be paying $400 for a bag of pink baby asprin? I would venture that "yes" would be the correct answer. Abcesses would be rampant. Guys would be injecting into veins amoung other places that I don't even want to think about. So get over yourselves. I promise (BigJay81) that this is not directed at anyone in particular. I understand that it is human nature to be cynical and distrustful of someone who wants to make a living by profitting off of others. But that is what he is doing. And he deserves every penny and then some for extending your freedom in a manner such as this. And always remember that the vets never really go away. They just decide that sometimes it is best to wear a mask. | ||

WHo the hell cares how much money is made off this board ? George is entitled to make a living just like the rest of us. For hindasass or whoever....the Select board was the suggestion of many board members. There has always been a few unhappy people here who did not like the quality of all the newbie posts. George created the forum to satisfy the cry babies. For Bigjay....I really have no personal problem with you but it seems to me that since day one you have been bitching about your posts and your status on this board. When the format was changed, you were the first to complain because you felt shorted 10 or 20 posts ! You trash this site on every other board that you visit. If you hate it so much then please do us all a favor and leave. No one has doubted your contributions. You do a great job of touting your own greatness but I'm tired of it. I think George has done a great job with his company by allowing us to use the site. FOr those of you who assume that you can do better, then please do so. This board is a good forum. I'm sure GS and his team will rectify the glitches that caused post to lock or vanish. Just a note to GS, I think BigJay81 has contributed vastly to this board. He does helped newbies and dumb bros like me and I felt that a postive commendation should be given to him. The reason why BigJay81 is angry, is that posts went missing or unaccounted, and other bros could not benefit from the information posted. BigJay81 DOES NOT hate the board for sure. BigJay is a very valuable bro here who earned kudos and respect from many other board members. I'm sure GS is fully informed of the situation. | ||

George I think this is a great place, even with the complaints and glitches you have allowed us all to learn from each others success and mistakes... I made a promise to help support this board and buy a t-shirt when it was first mentioned...Well I guess later rather then never is still just as good...I'll be looking forward to wearing it when I workout this next week, to tell as many people as I can where to come for information and a forum to learn from. thanks again P.S. If anyone here has a problem why not offer some constructive comments on how best to improve the problems instead of making it an all out war of words...Perhaps if the solutions can work with Georges' budget for this board then it might work great. | ||

i also must say as a newbie ive learned a lot here. ive been to many boards, and this one is by far the best.The Most organized. When you go to most other boards for info, you never know how legit the people there are. Basically anyone can go and post ANYTHING on those other boards. As for Elite, everything is structured. The Mods here know what they are talking about, and are very helpful. Elite Fitness is obviously ELITE!!! | ||

I can't get on as much as I used to, but I still visit to learn, and assist where I can, whenever I'm online. I'll also be sending in some photos of me soon for that kick-ass modeling stuff.
