I know this is a fucked up question, but a very, very well know source from south america has been sending packages from a mailer in the US using express mail. When I emailed him about waiving the signature, he told me not to worry and to go ahead and sign for the package. He states the reason for the signature requirement is to keep him from getting scammed by new customers saying the package never arrived. Obviosly this is totally fucked up and no reasonable source would require a signature. At this point the only way to get the package is to sign a card allowing an agent (me) to pick it up at the post office. When I pick it up I would have to use my real name and valid ID. If I dont I risk losing my money, or waiting an extra 3-4 weeks to get my shit remailed. If you know who Im refering to, let me know if you have signed for any packages and if you got in any shit because of it. This shit makes me entirely too fucking nervous. Any mods or vets that know who Im dealing with - please email me your comments if they are to sensitive for the board.     | ||

If I were him and I have been getting scammed I would want proof that the package arrived as well. You should do the same if you are sending cash. | ||

use usps confirmation, it cost $.40 extra. mailman scans the package when you get it, if not home they scan redeliver, and so on... ------------------ | ||

If he ships within the USA then signing is fine because it has already gone through customs. If there were going to be a bust, they would bust the middle man before it even got to you. Feds always want the "bigger" person ------------------ | ||

i worked for ups i know how they operate once a month feds will come in with dogs and have them smell all overnights if they suspect they will open package other way is if people in your neibrhood are noticing you are getting shit load of ups packages and the all of a sudden you are driving a new bmw no wories bro | ||

Ripped to shreds - first of all I didnt mention any names, products, delivery or origination address. WTF do I need to edit. I dont think the DEA is getting on a plane because I mentioned south america. Let me know by email if I missed something important and I will gladly edit. Secondly, it is VERY fucked up to send anything illegal - then require a signature with ID from the recipient. If you think this is a good way to do business, maybe you can explain this to me. Im not slamming your boy - just stating the facts. 3rd - I realize there isnt a risk of customs finding shit. What I dont like is the number of domestic busts. These arent happening because of customs and without knowing all the details the last thing I want to do is sign my name and show my ID to pick up illegal shit at the post office. Sorry - better paranoid then behind bars. Sorry ripped if I ruffled your feathers. If you think about it Im sure you will understand: I just want my gear and I dont want to end up in the pokey. If one person tells me they got busted trying to sign for a package - Im not touching it! | ||

Big Johnson - I do have hushmail thank you. I just dont post it for everyone to use. I also use PGP encryption. Regardless, I dont see how having hushmail has anything to do with this post, unless your asking for my hushmail address in order to give me some more info. If thats the case email me at the address I post and Ill return it with my hushmail address. Ripped - The fact that people know who this is has nothing to do with my original post. A lot of people know him - period. Its funny how everybody seems to think they know who Im talking about but only a couple of guys mentioned having to sign for a package. Hmmmmm. In all honesty, I don't think it matters legally whether you signed for your package or not. If it's in your posession and they want to bust you then you will be busted. Has there ever been a case where someone was proven guilty simply by signing for a package? The UPS driver delivers my neighbors packages to me and I sign for them all of the time when there is no one home. Does this mean that if the package has drugs that I will be busted? I really just don't think by signing for a package that it "proves" that it was something you requested. ------------------ |
