Doing my last rep of deads, I think I might have arched my back a little and about 4 inches off the ground something "popped, or "clicked" at the base of my spine about 3 inches bellow my belly button, and I just dropped the weight. I straightened up but it was sore and still is. NOt that bad right now but it kinna feels like it might be tomorrow. Does anyone know what I might have done and if it's serious?

If it hurts like hell now then it's serious...otherwise it could have been a million things.

Could be a million different things with that description. Tommorrow once the dust settles let me know what movements are painful and what relieve the pain, exact location and type of pain, etc... and I should be able to help you further. It probably isn't serious or you would know it by now but I would take it easy to be safe.

THIS IS *EXACTLY* WHAT HAPPENED TO ME.

About 5 months ago. GO TO THE DOCTOR, AND SEE A PHYSICAL THERAPIST!!! If I had done that, I'd be healed by now, rather than waiting probably another month to squat again. Don't fuck with it, you pulled/tore some of your connective tissue most likely. Not a good thing.

It's been about 1.5 hours now and I don't really feel it that much anymore, there's no pain, just a little soreness. Hopefully it wasn't serious, but u guys r trippen me out. Fuck, I can't afford to go see a physical therapist right now. Frackal, what did they do when you went? What exactly did they tell you to do? I mean, I could easily go finish my workout right now but I'm playing it safe. Shit I hope it wasn't serious.

I have hurt my back several times lifting. Horrible muscle sprains, but I healed. Once it was painful for 3-4 weeks. It then went away and I am now fine. You never know.

Don't let mark4124 fool you...he likes boys. But another thing it could be is an intervertebral disc or annulus. My dad had that happen, and he heard a little crunch, and that's what it turned out to be. In his case, only time healed it. But if it's connective tissue, so physical therapy might help.
