Before my next cycle i am going to get some blood work done, do i tell them what i want checked out or does it check everything like liver, kidneys, thyroid, test levels or levels of estrogen in the body. I have never had a blood test to check such things thought it cant hurt only help if somethings wrong. I also was wondering how they check to see if you have higher estrogen levels i think i might will the blood test show this. Thanks for any help or any additional info you guys can give

Big

Full chem panel (COMP METABOLIC PNL) Lipid Panel and CBC/DIFFERENTIAL. I explicitly asked for Test and Estradiol as well (you may want to throw in a request for "free" test).

Bchemist would be a good resource for you but I doubt you'll see him here these days.

Later,

You can tell them specific things you want checked or are concerned about or just ask for a complete screening.A complete check shows everything from test, thyroid, estrogen, creatinine levels, etc.A normal check for test. replacement therapy would show things like free, total, and serum testosterone levels as well as PSA(dealing w/prostrate if you didnt know).Different docs and HMO's deal with test requests differently but if youre footing the bill you can get about any test ya want.

My bloodwork for just the test and PSA stuff runs $90.My co-worker had the full screening at same place and he said it was $350.With our HMO at our employer we pay just $10 for the office visit so thats not bad.My prescription co-pay is just $10 also for 10ml(Test. Cyp.)
