I received an interesting e-mail from someone over an article on my website. Please discuss and analyse your view.

Hi, i read that you said 100g of protien after a workout is a
great way to stimulate growth. I beg to differ. After a workout,
your body is low on glycogen, and needmore carbs than anything
else.If your trying to gain size, than you should consume carbs
and protein in a 4:1 ratio, if trying to cut up, 2:1 ratio. Also,
if trying to cut up, consume majority of carbs for day after
training. The reason for the high carb postworkout meal is an
insulin spike to drive the amino acids into the muscles. Thanks
for your time, awesome site.

Thanks

Personally I disagree, scientific and medical studies have shown that those ratios he mentioned are plain wrong. Carbs are needed to shuttle the protein and the most simple carbs are best, however post workout is the time your body needs protein and I doubt it will all go to waste if you dont consume that many carbs. Mix the drink with fat free milk and you have the simple carbs you need.
