Yes - They are simple carbs, but they will NOT make you fat !!!!!!!!!! That is pure bull crap !!!!

Calories above your maintenance level that are not used for energy are turned to fat !!!!!!!!!

it is easy to get fat on fruit. It contains a lot of fructose and sucrose. It is like eating candy with a multivitamin and a bit of soluable fibre added. Think about it a bear will only eat fruit right before he goes into hibernation to build up his fat stores. Fruit = sugar = shit.

As already stated by others, fruit is not a cmplex carb.It contains the natural sugar fructose.Fructose is not a great carb 4 us ironheads because it is easily turned into fat as it passes through the liver.Stay away from it when trying to get lean.It is best to eat it 4 breakfast if u must have it.It is also not a particularly good carb to carb up w/.

FRUCTOSE IS NOT EASILY TURNED INTO FAT!!!!!!!!!! For a CHO to be turned into fat is a long process that doesnt' happen often. It can and does happen sometimes, but most of your CHO gets oxidized, and your fat will get stored... Yes its simple sugars, but what do y'all think complex CHO gets turned into in the body???(everything gets broken down to simple sugars)But Fruits and complex CHO are both important to us. The key is moderation.

Carbs DO NOT make you fat, contrary to popular beleif. An excess of CALORIES do...Period...end of story. A restriction in CALORIES, not neccessarily carbs is what causes weight loss. If you restrict your calories to the point where you are burning more than you are consuming you will loose body weight...even if all you ate was carbohydrate. Fruits are good carb sources. Just like any other food though, if you over eat them, you will be adding additional un-needed calories...That is what causes the weight gain.

fructose is good because it has a low GI,but only good to an extent, too much of it,for example using it as the carb source for your meal replacment will overlaod the livers ability to metabolize it ,this causes the liver to convert it to palmitate, your body can only handle so much fructose at one time,i am not sure if this applies to just one sitting though or the whole day,and im not sure on how much is too much, but i just know using fructose as your carb source in a meal replacement(eg 30g 3 times a day) is too much,i hope someone who knows will clear this up for me

when you are talking about sugars and getting fat. Some are going to effect you differently. You don't want your blood sugar levels to crash. Do a search for a glecimic index chart sorry about the spelling. All fruits are different.

Too anyone who thinks that fruit is not easily turned into fat,in most cases,u r wrong.Fructose is not easily stored as glycogen and is not handled well by most.Since it is not a great fuel 4 liver or muscle glycogen,it it converted into tryglycerides more easily than other carbs, despite being low on the glycemic index. Also, the majority of people in this country r insulin insensitive,so if u don't watch your carbs u will not get lean.Of course there r exceptions, however, with all the competitors I have ever coached, they all looked better after removing fruit from the diet...in terms of bodyfat%.Remember that protein and fat r essential nutrients, carbs r not!
