I am entering a bench contest tonight for my college. I have only maxed once in my life and that was 275 last year. Now i can bench 265 for sets of 5. So how much do you guys think i should be able to max tonight. Give me your best educated guess. Im nervous. Wish me luck bros. I will represent all the juiceheads on the board.

if you train heavy, I will say 10 lbs per rep. % reps add 50 pounds. 315 but do 265, 290 first.

good luck!

Between 290 and 310, depending on your fast twitch muscle make up. I remember when I first got 275 for 5, I maxed at 315.

I usually fire it up there pretty fast. I bench the reps that I can do with power.

It was touch and go bench and I placed 5th out of like 30 people. The guy who one they call juice and he got 485 on his final try. He did it easily. He is the world champion for ages 21-23.

with a 315 max you'd have to weigh about 115lbs to win anything, why bother?

ignore some of these rude asses. 5th out of 30 is damn good and something to be proud of. you can say that at your school you are in the top 15% in bench press and thats just out of the guys who competed. probably top 5% out of everyone at your school.
even though i can do more. lol

There is a formula for this somewhere. I don't know if you will be able to find it on the internet though. It is really accuarate in my experience.
