Hey bro, just wondering about your bench post, do you swith up incline one month and flat the next...meaning you ONLY do one or the other for the whole months worth of chest workouts, and then the next you ONLY do the other? I am curious on new bench routines.

Yes..that is what I do..and I only do 3 sets of each..on the bench the first set is always a warm up set of 155 for 10 (1 set) then I jump up to 245 for 10..then to 295 for 10...this is the flat bench. I will then do weighted dips or flyes depending on how my shoulders feel..I have found that keeping my bench reps in the 10 range has helped my shoulders and elbows from hurting..I like the switch because when you go back to inclines or flat benches you are always sore.. I think most people overtrain the chest...my chest workout takes about 15-20 minutes.. BTW..what happened to Big Truck???

So I could do a few sets of flat bench, maybe some flys and dips and that is it? Do this once per week for 4 weeks or so and then substitute incline instead of flat? Seems like too little of a workout. I usually do flat, then incline, then flys, then dips, or something to that affect. Do you think it is too much? I am willing to try anything, I am stuck.

Hey, I have not heard from Bigtruck, I think he had another kid. Perhaps he is too busy to post here anymore.

I am of the belief that less is more... give it a try..and just do 3 exercises for 3 sets..that should be more than enough....

I have a book from Columbu written in the 70's and his chest routing was crazy! He would do 10 reps, then 9,8,7 etc until her reached a one rep max. That is 10 sets. And each set was with a weight that he could only do that number of times. IE first set was a weight he could only get 10 times and no more. I think that workout would kill me.

I agree..that is going way overboard..Its hard to get it through to people that you don't need 20 sets to get your chest to grow (for most people) I wish I would of trained this way when I was younger..would of saved me some shoulder and elbow pain..
