I've never had problems with this before, but now if I go to the usps.com site and enter my tracking number this is what I see (edited for obvious reasons):
You entered ET16*******US
Your item arrived at 9:49 am on February 24.
Here is what happened earlier:
February 22 7:36 pm INTERNATIONAL DISPATCH READY KENNEDY AMC
February 21 3:02 pm ACCEPT OR PICKUP somewhere MA 02454

So from this, I'd read that it was delivered to the person that it was sent to and they'd then have whatever the contents are/were.
When I contacted that person, they say they don't have it - and they say they couldn't possibly have it since that is a weekend (the 24th) and in their country nothing gets delivered on weekends.
Is it likely that there are more steps to go still and I should keep tracking it, or should I just assume a loss?

Thanks

Express mail IS delivered on weekends. I have had them come on Sundays, and even on Holidays. Somebody signed for it on the 24th, now you just have to find out who it was. The Post Office isn't just making that data up.

This is to another country, so perhaps it is global express.
I'm 90% sure the guy is just lying to me - but I'm not going to say he scammed me, it is feasible that it was stolen or some shit too.
needless to say, I won't order from there anymore. I knew the risk, sent a test order (still a rather expensive test order) and this is what I get. who's the greedy dumbass here? (hint: me)

oh well, thanks!

well, I just called the usps and also spoke with the guy, the web form for tracking sucks at usps.com.
Anyway, they are on holiday in that country (no idea what holiday) and will return shortly - so it is likely that it is caught up in all that.
to me, the web form makes it look like it was delivered, but in reality it just means it is in the country now.

When it says "arrived" it probably means that it arrived at the destination post office and is set for delivery; it should say delivered once it has been delivered.

Yes, "arrived" means that it is at it`s final post office destination. It still could be a little bit before it actually gets to the address.
