I am wondering where people disposa of their needles? I don't want to just throw in the trash because of the safety aspect of the trashmen and dumpworkers.    | ||

This is what I do. I take all my used needles and put them in a empty plastic protien container and then i close the top and put some duct tape to seal it shut. This is a really good thread. I'd like to think that everyone else was as concearned with the safty of others (Garbage men)who are trying to earn a honest living.  | ||

Someone else posted a great idea to use wire cutters and cut them into harmless little pieces. I don't recall who said that so I can't give em credit. I've been doing it ever since. takes 10 seconds and the needle is harmless! | ||

ya i always resheild them and put them in some kind of container. or i flush them sometimes if there is nowhere safe to dispose of them. | ||

I have all of mine in a big plastic sack in my closet..theyre capped. When i decide to get rid of them, ill put them in a protein container...sounds like a good idea. ------------------ | ||

I think a chopped pin could still poke somebody. I just cap them and wrap them in with other garbage an put them in somebody elses dumpster. I think I'm going to start putting them in the old protien jugs though. Good Idea. | ||

Over here we can give in our used syringes to pharmacists, no questions asked. They dispose of them as a hospital would do. ------------------

Give them to the druggies, they need them. I use an empty shampoo or tide detergent bottle that is opage with a screw on lid. If you want to be extra safe, use diagonal cutters and cut the needlt in two and remove the plunger on the syringe and put the needle inside the barrel and replace the plunger. That way no one can get pricked. | ||

In the UK, we get sharps boxes with our needles, just pop the pins in the box and hand it in when your finished. You get a new box every time you go in for a load of needles | ||

Do not try to put them in aluminum beer can for safety reasons. My thumb hurt for 4 days. You just don't realize how long an inch is.  | ||

Always like to get rid of them asap so I resheild it, lay it on a piece of duct tape and put another piece over the top of it. Once it is sealed like that I just toss it out in the trash. If anyone ever found it, it would be a real bitch to open, and the shield can't accidently fall off. Nice and safe and less evidence laying around the house. Just cuz I'm paranoid doesn't mean they aren't out to get me... | ||

i just bring them to the hospital and ask them to dispose it. cuz i just poke 500mg/ of tests and needed to get rid of it safely.j/k |
