he looked like an overfed bulldog. HUGE? Definitely. Looks like he was retaining some water in the face a lot though. Of course he made everyone feel small, including me, but you know what (I thought i would never say this), i dont think i would want to be that BLOWN UP. I mean fuck man, it looked like his skin couldnt be stretched to accomidate any more muscle in his body! I respect what he has built, but it is quite extreme, even for me. Im 5'7''210, 14 years lifting. Ild like to put on another 15 or 20 lbs and look a bit harder, but to look like that ild have to be like 270 or so. Im thinking if my joints and body feel shitty at times from what im doing, what does he feel like? I speak for myself of course, I know others will disagree. By the way I met him cuz he was a rep for Biochem at a supplement store in South Florida. ------------------ IP: Logged |

yeah gotta take into consideration that he is probably off season. i know priest looks like a pumpkin off season. but you gotta admit, when they are on their game....they are on! I think i would settle for looking like a semi roly poly for a few months a year. ------------------ IP: Logged |

MUST be offseason, too bloated looking not to be, still very impressive, but definitely not even near hard looking. I just said hey, shook his hand, got a signed pic. He wasnt very social I believe, looked tired, lacked enthusiasm. ------------------ IP: Logged |

For what it's worth, I don't want to look like Flex on contest day. He's huge, he looks great, but I'd rather look like Arnold did in the 70's - huge, lean, etc., whereas today's guys look like a science project. Matt IP: Logged |

I am with you Matt. The body buliders of the 70's each had thier genitic traits that were unique to them. Now a days, I can't even tell a diffrence from one athlete from the other. IP: Logged |

no class on flex at all at the olympia!! that hand motion to the crowd & sneer was unethical, i'm no judge, but the big boy was beat again for the 2nd time, big ronnie is the best i've ever seen, no one till this day can beat him!! that i've seen!! my two lousy cents!!!!!!!!! samson IP: Logged |

If Yates were still in the game, Ronnie and the rest of the guys would play second fiddle! IP: Logged |

I can never get too big! As for the 70s bodybuilders, they don't have better genetic than todays BB. Arnold is cool but look at his legs. They are way too small. Not much striation. Back then they took a shitload of juice and GH. Because it was legal and still their physique can't compare to today. ------------------ IP: Logged |

I met Flex a couple of times-cool guy- Nobody in their right mind would want to be like that!! 99% of people have no idea what its like to maintain that. Not to mention even afford it!! I know many of the top pros and would never trade places with them!! I'm 5'6" 205-210 and that rough enough. Those bodies will fail so fast in a few short yrs. Moderation!!! J IP: Logged |

I agree with you all. Flex was out of line at the Mr. O, pointing #1. With attitude like that, he'll never improve himself. Arnold looked AWESOME in the 70's. That's when men looked great, without looking like total freaks. Those are what I'm shooting for. ------------------ IP: Logged |

Definitly hated what he did at the 'O'. But I want to be large and freakish. i want people to look at me in envy wishing they were man enough to look like that. I want people to look at me and say what you said......."it doesn't look like his skin can stretch to accomodate any more muscle" I'll get there someday. I wonder how big flex and Ronnie were in High school?????? ------------------ IP: Logged |

Gotta agree I like the old guys better. Arnold had the best symmetry. The new guys are too freakish. I like to go for the lean look. (Holyfield) This way you can still be an athlete (play ball, mountainbike) without losing flexability- IP: Logged |

I will admit that I like the older guys' physiques much better thean bb's nowadays. Although, I think Lee Priest looks amazing. He has symmetry and size. Personally, I like Bob Paris's physique. He was perfect symmetry and in good shape with size. Arnold did not have the best physique of all time but is definitely the best bb of all time. IP: Logged |

I must agree with E2 and Matt. Unless most of the pro's are on stage posing they just look like a big huge average joe The body builder's of the 70's were much better looking. Besides the orange plaid bell bottoms and the hair cuts. Once again just my opinion ------------------ IP: Logged |

Actually I thought it was funny what Flex did onstage. I think it livened up the whole kabang.. I think BB needs more attitude..and Im not talking about being total fucking snots like alot of them are. Arnold used to razz the hell out of American BB's back in the day...and alot of people thought he was an asshole..but it made it interesting. Now Im not talking WWF chair over the head stuff, but it does need some amping up.. Hell if I had to train and diet like those guys do all year around I would be a little frustrated about being second best myself.. Ive never met Flex..but I think what he did at the competition wasnt so much out of disrespect for Coleman..but a sign of extremem competetivness on his part.. Just my veiw.. what did flex do? just flip off the crowd. i guess he is somewhat justified. i have been out of bodybuilding for about 6 years, and back when i was into it flex was always coming up 2nd to dorain at the olympia. maybe hes pissed of being 2nd. IP: Logged |

i agree with wcp....Flex did'nt mean no disrespect to big ron...that's just part of being competitive....some of you may be but not everyone is always happy with 2nd place...i'm very competitive and can understand what flex was feelin....I don't know one professional sport where you see the second place team or person jumpin around because there second...sure your happy but also frustrated because you were so close and in flex's position...he done come up short many times....All he want's to do is win and be #1 what is wrong with that...
