Bros,

I have not posted much on here, so you may not know who I am!

But here is what I have going on. I'm currently 9 days out from my third contest. Everyone tells me I look great, but I feel like fucking shit. I look in the mirror and laugh cause I'm natural(mainly because I have very good genetics and have not reached my max potential yet!). Anyway, this contest is the NPC Northern Colorado Championships. I'm currently about 6' 200 lbs and 6.1% BF. Sometimes I just want to say fuck it, your too small, those guys will be doin gear and make me look bad.

I guess what I'm lookin for is a vote of encouragement for this last week. It's gonna take alot of balls to do an unnatural show 100% Natural. Any advice on how to look harder, more vascular, or even a little leaner then my freaky competitors would be greatly appriciated. YOU GUYS ALL ROCK!!! And a special good luck to Chesty II, I've seen your pics bro you look awesome!!

I will post my pics with ChestyII and results as well after the contest April 1st!(If thats ok with ChestyII)

Bro,

You've put too much time in to say "fuck it". See what happens - maybe you will do better than you expect.

After you see how you do, you can decide whether you want to pursue more shows - if you want to do gear, whatever.

It takes balls to get out there. But nothing ever got accomplished by saying fuck it.

Good luck bro!

Matt

You guys as always are right, I'm gonna fuckin kick some ass. I'll pose harder, lose more water, and carry myself better. After all the biggest guy does not always win. I'll be more cemetrical, leaner, and go ape shit on stage. YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEH!!!!

Now I'm siked up!! Wish me luck bro's!! Better yet, wish my competitors luck they will need it!!!!!!!!!!

Man, don't ever say fuck it. I have been laughed off stage before in my first ever contest. Yes, I would love to post your pic's on my site. Thanks for wishing me good luck and the vote of confidence. Hey at 6' 200lb and 6.1 bf you well on your way. You can use niacin about an hour before you go on stage, stay away from all carbs day of show and day before.

I have heard that a shot of red wine before you go on stage can help. Never tried it though.

Good luck and never quit!!!

Remember this:

You had the balls to get up on stage and prove your stuff.

You also endured the diet that 90% of the guys who are huge could never do.

Even though you may think you aren't ready, you are. Bodybuilding is mental as much as it is physical. Watch Pumping Iron. If you think you are a winner, you will be. I have seen so many comptitors lose a place because they look shy and intimidated on stage. Go with the attitude that your shit don't stink and you will do good.

Bodybuilding is subjective. Just because you may or may not do well is determined how those 7 people looking at you are feeling that day.

Bodybuilding is also political, even at the local level. Judges are supposed to disqualify themselves if they are associated with a competitor, i.e. train them, but that usually doesn't happen.

Good luck. Let us know how you did.

Peace

Don't give up , I have seen guys on stage who didn't even belong up there where as you
are in shape and have some decent muscle on your frame.

It's always tough mentally when you prepare for a competition especially the last couple of weeks. At that point you start asking yourself "why am i doing this?" or "do I really want to go through with it" . It's natural to start second guessing yourself when comes time to actually complete. I have been in competitions where I was natural and I know the other guys where not. When you see them you start to think "I don't belong here" but you can't give up. It takes time for a natural guy to get the size and shape that you need to compete with some of those juice heads so you have to be patient.

When I competed I basically wrote that competition off as a learning experience because I knew that I wasn't on the same level of the unnatural competitors. That was 4 years ago , now I'm considering competing again next year but this time I plan to show up with the kind of size I need to be to be successful. You just have to keep working at it.

I think you have a chance at doing well in that show. If you do not do as well as you would like then do whatever you have to do to improve and go back and do better. I think anyone who is natural in the NPC has alot or courage and should be considered a champion even if they get third.

Bro's,

Thanks again! I will just have fun and who knows, maybe I'll go further than I ever expected.

Also to Mistake1- Any advice you have would be greatly appriciated. I did this contest last year and took 4th. I'm atleast 8-10 lbs of muscle heavier, so I just need some tips on carbs and water lose.

You guys rock!!!

You should carb deplete until Wed and slowly start to load on Thur. morning. Keep the protein high throughtout.Your minimal carbs should be around 125gms per day and on Thurs double them and Fri double again.Only eat plain rice or potatos for carbs and boneless chix for protein.Buy some Hot Stuff and the posing oil from the same co. Don't use the gold shit!!! Flex constantly!! If the show is Sat. then add another 100 gms of carbs on Sat.If Sun,then add afew more carbs and cut the water out noon the previous day and sip now and then.bring to show:5 or 6 bananas, bottle of applejuice,gatorade,carbo-force,water,and Hot Stuff and oil. Make sure you eat at least 2 full meals before pre-judging. If you feel flat, eat a 3rd meal of GOOD food. Before you hit the stage, eat 2 bananas, and drink some applejuice during pump up and eat a few sugar packets!!! Put the hot stuff on first then the oil. good luck!!

Thanks again bros,

I think my head is straight now! BIG THANKS TO MISTAKE1 for the info. Also ChestyII for posting my pics after the contest.

It's Sunday the 26th and I'm only taking in about half the carbs from the last three weeks. Will continue this till thursday then slowly increase them until show time. I order the Pro tan and hot stuff, as well as there posing oil. I think my bf is around 6-5.0% today. With the slight carb deplete I should get to the low 5's. Again thanks bro's!!!
