I have one and just used it during lunch every so often. It helps relax and loosen my lower back muscles after a hard back or leg day. I turn it to the lowers freq. and it is like a great massage. Sometimes I'll use a heating pad while other times I put ice packs (just after a hard workout.) It will not replace lifting, but when I've kicked up the freq. and the intensity on my chest (after a chest workout) SON OF A BITCH! Talk about some fricking pain.....was sore as hell the next day. But more often I use it to relax and rehab my lower back. Had a pulled muscle a while ago doing squats and it's is still not 100% Late Lobo IP: Logged |

it is good for relaxation and working out sore muscles but other than that it is pretty much a waste of time. nothing can replace hard work in the gym. IP: Logged |

Some lazy ass I know bought one, It does work wonders if you set it to lower freq's(for therapy) Because i half a fucked up back. But as far as muscle growth or a pump, shit your better of hooking up jumper cables to your pecker. Fun to watch the thing contract your muscles so actually it more entertaining then useful, all and all don;t waste your money. ------------------ IP: Logged |

I think it can be used to help rehab an area or to work a muscle when there is a problem with the muscle attachments. Also, I hear some BBers who are paralyzed from the waist down use it for abs. IP: Logged |

I didn't get a pump or anything. And hell if I know if it added any size, didn't use it much for that. Like I said, mostly for rehab, which I love. I also work on a damn computer most of the day and can get some nasty knots in my shoulder area. A nice 20/30 min hook up really dose a nice job to reduce the tension. I only spent like 200 bucks on mine, went through a medical distributor.... Told them I was a doc and that my assistant would be doing the paper work... They didn't really give two shits and I sent them a cashiers check. Hell, it cost me like 50 bucks a week for the therapist and that was WITH ins. And them twits running around the office didn't do or know any more than me so I figured WTF, I'll do it myself. I cut my costs and just saw the REAL doc once a week or so (then there was them nice massages by that sweet little thing.... If it does anything other than rehab, I think it would do more for toning and hardening rather than bulking. Would I pay $500? Nope, but $200 yes - and I got all the nice adjustments. It's like anything guys, it ain't a magic bullet, but it does have a place and a use. Just as long as you know what that is. Late Lobo IP: Logged |

The chiropractor can adjust me until I spend about 20 minutes on one. Once he tried, got the other doctor and the two of them where putting way to much pressure on me and still could move my spine. I spend a little time on the machine and I lose enough to push with his fingers. ? wouldn't it be the same as flexing and sqeezing the muscle. Do that to get a mean pump - same thing, no. We do believe that we are getting benifits from that. Just a thought. IP: Logged |

The devices that DO work are prescribed by a doctor. My friend suffered nerve damage that made his left pec go bye bye. Until the nerve regrows, his doc gave him such a device w/4 pads. It's working. That's what they were REALLY intended for. Don't know if they will work on a healthy muscle to make it bigger/stronger. Doubt it. IP: Logged |

What you are refering to is a TENS unit. I have used them on stroke patients, when I worked in physical therapy. Of cource, when everyone was gone, I tried it on my self. haha I don't think it has any legit use for bodybuilding. One THEORY possible..if you have trouble with a muscle group... Like calves..it could help you "learn" a better mind muscle connection, there by allowing you to work the muscle more effectively....Hence Growing cows for calves... IP: Logged |
