What is it, I just heard that the international olympic committee is going to test for it in the summer olympics, and that it is the "performance enhancer drug of choice". IP: Logged |

Trust me I have been told by the Australian Sports Drug Association (the guys who are doing the testing at sydney 2000), that they can not and will not be testing for it at the 2000 olympics, along with growth Hormone. I heard this at a meeting ASDA had with a state sporting institute in australia, and they don't want australians testing positive, so the govenment wouldn't tell govenment supported athletes in a govenment supported program things to get them to return a positive result. Are you going to be competing in oz in 2000, feel free to e-mail me. IP: Logged |

erethyropoiten- mimics the chemical signal that tell your body to make more red blood cells- increases blood oxygen carrying capacity- it is of most use to endurance atheletes though I am sure there are some benefits to strength atheletes BTW- this is why over half the teams dropped out of the tour de france when they started raiding teams for EPO and threatening to test-at the olympics they may test for it- there are two tests one by developed by a german. I thought they were still discussing the false positives issue, but maybe they have dropped it. ------------------ IP: Logged |

I heard the report on National Public Radio, and they said that they haven't yet found a test for EPO, but that they wanted one in time for the summer games. BTW, nope I'm not competing, I'm just an interested bystander. IP: Logged |
