Vitality health products has gone done in Thailand with a few other undisclosed pharmacies. This is off the asscoiated press http://wire.ap.org It basically says the FDA sent warning letters to many foreign pharmacies that they are breaking U.S. law by selling steroids and other controlled substances to customers in the U.S. The FDA wants to go after pharmacies that sell scheduled substances to the USA. Its too bad because vitality had some good deals on non controlled substances such as proscar. Be safe- IP: Logged |

Let 's get this straight , you can buy crack , and kill someone for your fix, and only do a little jail time for being busted with the stuff... But buying and selling juice is a federal offense..... Something is most definitely wrong here ............ IP: Logged |

Here it is. What a sorry fucking affair this is. -----------------Filed at 3:12 p.m. EST
The arrests were the result of a joint operation by U.S. and Thai customs agents, the first case in which the U.S. government had a hand in closing the Web sites of foreign companies exporting drugs that can be bought in the United States only with a prescription. Tranquilizers, diet pills and steroids were among the drugs the three Internet pharmacies targeted in the sweep were accused of mailing overseas, mostly to customers in the United States, a U.S. Embassy spokeswoman said, speaking on condition of anonymity. Six people have also been arrested in the United States for allegedly buying drugs from a Thai Internet pharmacy, she said. ``Many of these Internet pharmacies are fly-by-night operations set up overseas to avoid U.S. law,'' U.S. Customs Service Commissioner Raymond Kelly said in Washington. ``They have little regard for patient safety. They're only interested in making a fast buck, then moving on to the next victim.'' At one of the targets, Bangkok-based Vitality Health Products, 80 percent of online sales went to U.S. buyers, said Kevin Delli-Colli, director of Customs cybersmuggling center in Fairfax, Va. ``We're seeing Valium, fen-phen (the diet drug), Viagra and a lot of anabolic steroids,'' Delli-Colli said. In some cases, the quantities involved ``suggest people are buying them for distribution.'' Prescription drugs are readily available over the counter in Thai pharmacies, despite growing government efforts to regulate pharmaceutical sales. The 22 suspects, arrested from November through January after almost six months of investigation, face up to five years in jail for violating Thai export regulations, a Thai customs investigator said on condition of anonymity. U.S. authorities are additionally preparing indictments, as the suspects are also liable for prosecution under U.S. law, the embassy spokeswoman said. Thai Foreign Minister Surin Pitsuwan said his government, which is hosting a meeting this week of 20 Asia-Pacific nations on fighting cross-border crime, pledged full support for further cooperation on illegal Internet sales. ``Certainly the cooperation is two-way: we inform each other of the various violations of this nature,'' he said in an interview. The cooperation extends to other crimes as well, such as U.S. tourists who visit Thailand for sex with children, he said. Thailand and the United States began their joint investigation of online pharmacies after Thai customs officers intercepted parcels of drugs being mailed to the United States in May 1999. U.S. Customs seized 9,725 packages with prescription drugs mailed to the United States in 1999, compared with 2,145 packages in 1998. Authorities did not release details about the companies involved in the recent raid. Among those arrested in Thailand was a Singaporean national who ran one of the online pharmacies. Another company was operated by a British national, who fled the country, the Thai customs officer said. Dozens of computers and large quantities of drugs, including Viagra and the tranquilizers Xanax and Valium, were seized, he said. Joint investigations were continuing to identify more online pharmacies suspected of operating illegally in Thailand, the embassy spokeswoman said. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced in February it had sent e-mails to a dozen operators of foreign-based Internet drugstores, warning them they may be engaged in activities illegal under U.S. law. ------ On the Net: The U.S. Food and Drug Administration on ``Buying Medical Products Online'': http://www.fda.gov/oc/buyonline/ The FDA's warnings about foreign online pharmacies: http://www.fda.gov/bbs/topics/ANSWERS/ANS01001.html IP: Logged |

what i don't understand is why those other countries just let the USA just waltz on in and arrest whom ever they want anywhere in the world. Shit if it were my country and the FDA wanted to arrest some of my people i would give them the big middle finger, tell them that we allow it in our country, and just who the hell do you think you are telling me what to do. How many other countries do you ever see just barge into the USA and arrest whom ever they feel fit. no one because the USA doesn't allow that. Im not advocating war or anything but for god sake Just who the hell does the FDA think they are or the US government for that matter. Conclusion, Too much government involvement in with the wrong issues!!! IP: Logged |

Just saw it on the computer channel ZDTV. They said the web sites were busted, this sucks. I wonder how much we paid in tax dollers for them to bust them. I'm sure there were lots of old people who could not revisit a doctor and now they don't get medication. L8R IP: Logged |

the FDA CUNTS, well they can't do anything to the foreign pharmacias, it is legal in there country were the law is being broken is the person that orders from a country were these products are controlled. the most the can do is put out a FDA alert for customs to watch for gear coming from these companies. My guess is it's only a matter of time before sites like this one are either shut down or regulated to the point where they aren't fun anymore. The good thing is the internet regulation debate is still raging, which gives us some breathing room. I'm sure those that want regulation are looking for examples of why it's needed. Who knows, they may be watching already. Although Mentalblock has a good point, bad brains took the words right out of my fingers. IP: Logged |

"Bad Brains you are so full of shit its funny you have any brains left at all. Of all federal drug busts last lear less than 1% was for steroids. The highest were cocaine and its derivatives, marijuana, the meths and so on. The feds philosophy has always been to get the top people. Thats how drug cartels have been brought down the mafia etc. Steroids aren't a high profit item comared to crack or meth(especially blue ice the most desired and dangerous form of meth known)You don't see people selling steroids on the corner or taking hits of deca in the backroom of party. Steroids will always be low priority because it is not a danger to users no one dies from juice generally steroid users live a positive healthy productive lifestlyle. Its when they start dealing and then see the profits of other more profitable drugs that can lead to being busted. It makes me wonder why the FDA was involved in this. The FDA has been under a lot of pressure from the major pharmaceutical comapanies IP: Logged |

The reason tobacco and alcohol are around is supply and demand. Almost all the people want it so they get it. Just like in the 1920s when alcohol was bootlegged. The demand grew high and finally we re-legalized it. (The dates might be wrong but the point is the same!) Who knows how to change a law? What steps are involved? Any lawyers around for advice? It wont happen if we dont try! IP: Logged |

To Transparent I agree with you, 1.First we need to get rid of Janet Reno she is the worst attorney general law enforcement wise in our history. 2. David kessler has to be removed from the head of the FDA. He is totally selling out to the pharmaceutical companies. He is giving into there pressure to shut down foreing and domestic pharmacies because these pharmacies sell the same drugs for a fraction of the big US companies. They plain and simple want a monopoly. Next we need to educate our senators about testosterone and its derivatives. Explain to them that the test gel they are taking for hormone replacement therapy is actually a anabolic steroid. Show em research done on AIDS people and othes with waisting disease and how steroids have helped them from waisting and how there were no side effects. Finally we can bitch slap the media every time they try to "make a news story" about how evil steriods are. Its a start. IP: Logged |
