I use them for rows (high and low). Sometimes for shoulder press. When I am feeling week I use them for upper chest! Most of the time, I stick to da free weights. Hammer strength is alright with me! ------------------ IP: Logged |

My favorite is the hammer jammer! You may not have seen it because it is mainly used in football programs. It uses the same motion as hitting a guy in a game. I love it. ------------------ IP: Logged |

Excellent for back and shoulders. Which is where I have had injury problems. I stick with good old squats and benching for chest and legs, but this is my personel prefrence. ------------------ IP: Logged |

All hammer strength machines are good. They are desingned to give optimal performance in the targeted mucle area. These machines are a good tool for breaking up otherwise regular routines or can be used to be part of your normal routine. Best order... 1. freeweights 2. Hammerstrength Machines 3. Cable cross (actually tied with #2) 4. Smith machines 5. Nautalis ------------------ IP: Logged |

I alternate between the use of Hammer streangth and free weights. Free weights always come first but I use HS to add something new to the routine. I prefer the lat row (for back) , the shoulder press (because my shoulder joints are not the best) and once in a while the chest press (I find it is good after some free weight pressing). I don't like the other back machines because I don't really feel the resistence the way I do when I'm rowing a barbell or dumbell. IP: Logged |

I personally don't like hammer strength because it's too free flowing and easy, your muscles aren't taxed. You have to put 5 plates a side on the hack squat just to feel anything, and even then it's still too easy. When I read about guys leg pressing 1500-2000 lbs. for reps,I believe it,The equipment is so free moving and easy flowing,PEEWEE HERMAN could leg press at least 1000 on it IP: Logged |

I love HS machines because they can accomodate my unusually long, um..., torso. ------------------ IP: Logged |

bro, At my gym, there is a hammer Leg Extension called the "Strive" machine, where you can position the weight in a variety of positions to stress the beginning or the end of each rep. It's like a superset machine - each set targets the muscle differently. Done with little rest, a Strive set is the nastiest burn I can get. We have recently added them for hamstrings and arms. My limbs have grown accordingly. Matt IP: Logged |
