What foods do you absorb the most protein from? If Tuna is 37.5 Gs a can and a glass of milk is 8, how many grams is our body really using? Does a 40 Gram shake actually give your body more than a 40 Gram can of tuna? IP: Logged |

Different foods have better protein availability. Tuna is among the highest - the body will use over 90% of the protein from tuna. Seafood in general is very high in availabilty. Beef is usually 60 - 70%, you will keep about 60 - 70% of the protein you ingest. Chicken is usually a little higher. Egg whites also have excellent availability, and shakes do as well. Tuna and egg whites probably give you the most protein bang for your buck. Anyone know of a web-site with more info on this? Matt IP: Logged |

Don't know any places off hand that mention the absorbtion rates, some people use the biological value for measuring it- and that scale is old as fuck and not too good. Tuna is good stuff. Think that the body can only absorb around 40gm of protein for every couple hours anyways. Protein farts are a good sign of that you're taking more in at one time that your body can handle.
