i went to tj for a day, went on sat. morning. got to the boarder to come back to u.s. now this is what happened... i bout $750 worth in gear. had 3 bags of clothes, wrapped my gear in my clothes and towels and shit, and hit them well. my friend was driving and customs asked if we had bought anything from mex. of course we said no. then he told us to open the trunk, i was still cool because this is their normal routine, but for the first time he opened one out of 3 bags that was in the trunk, i was shitting bricks. he asked who was the owner of the bag. (now this is important) I TOLD HIM IT WAS MINE, THE PASSENGER, THE REASON FOR THIS IS BECAUSE IF THE PASSANGER CLAIMS THE GEAR AND THE DRIVER IS NAIVE TO IT, THEY CANT RIP THE CAR APART OR SEIZE THE CAR. they took us in a room and searched us about 3 times. they later found another bag of mine with gear and brought it inside. now to try to make this story short, they found all my gear. told me that because my friend didnt even know what gear is they cant do much to him. if they wanted to however they could of held him too. its all in the "language" of how they want to fuck you up. as for me they said because it didnt look like i was going to sell any of it (i didnt have too much gear) and because its all vet type of gear, i can just pay them $500 to get me off the hook, but they also told me if i was an ass hole they could of kept me in jail and gave me a fine of up to $5000 (i kissed their ass well.) but like i said its up to how they want the language to sound to the warren. he makes the final descision. so now they are going to send me something in the mail like a ticket saying i got to pay 500 by 30 days or else its going to be 5000. well guys i am very bummed out that i lost $1200 in total. but i am very happy and greatful that they guy who was doing the writing language for me hooked me up in a way. it was up to what he wrote to the warren that could of fuck my life up. i am happy that its not on my record and its not $5000. i may of lost 1200 but its better than not being able to get a job again. to all you bros out there...; let me tell you either hide the shit well and dont buy too much gear so that it looks as if you are going to sell it or if you do get caught make sure you kiss ass very well. the most ironic part to this story is that the cool guy who helped me get the softest punishment; me and my buddy saw him that same night at the night clubs, and we partied with him and his friends. i asked him if i can get my gear back in anyway and he said he would if it was up to him but with 200 cops around it cant happen. if anyone has any questions or need advise about getting gear here or what the consequences would be just ask me. peace and stay strong. Man that sucks.. I feel for ya. Seems like a lot of dudes are getting caught lately. I think it's pretty fucked up. You would almost be better off taking off a few weeks and joining a gym somewhere in Mex and hittin the juice hard. Heard the best thing is to conceal it somewhere in the car it would be a real pain in the ass to get at. Anyways, good luck fellas down there. IP: Logged |

Good advice on the passenger claiming the gear. From what I have heard, if you are a fairly big guy, and you go to TJ, they're going to search you pretty hard when you come back. Good post. Matt IP: Logged |
