Just wondering.

Maybe you need to go to an orthopedic surgeon and get your shoulder checked out. I had the same problem. I did a cycle of deca and did rotator cuff exercises with those elastic rubber bands and my shoulder pain is gone. I had to eliminate all barbell exercises from my chest workout though because they bring back the pain. I've switched to all dumbell exercises and on the negative portion of each rep I turn my wrists slightly inward (not to the point where my palms are facing each other though)--just slightly. It takes the strain off my shoulder complex and I don't have any more problems.

What type of injury is it? You would probably do more harm than good by taking painkillers and lifting. "B"

How is your rear delt development? You might have an imbalance (front delt much bigger than the rear delt). Your front delts get much more work than your rears from all the pressing, thus making them much stronger and bigger than the rear and throwing them off balance causing pain.
It happened to me when I was 19 (10 yrs. ago). Fortunately, I had the best sports medicine doctor/chiropractor on the planet near my hometown, Dr. James Stoxen, team doctor for the APF (American Powerlifting Federation).
Ever heard of EDDIE COAN? Only the Strongest Man in the World pound for pound. He uses the same DOC. I would suggest first trying to find a good sports medicine Dr. and exhaust all their avenues(ultrasound, therapy, etc) before thinking about cutting into your shoulder.
As for using your gear, it might heal the injury but try to pause in the bottom of every pressing movement for a second or two between reps, not only will you alleviate any pain, but you will build strength alot quicker

Heck with the bench and presses. Now is your chance to build massive legs and back and bi's. I have a bad shoulder makes it hard to do any pressing movements. My back and legs are the strongest they have ever been now.

Gobbler....how very true you are !
My shoulder injury was a blessing in disguise. I started focussing on other lagging body parts and am much more complete now. I always thought my legs were hardgainers until I was forced to blast them twice a week. Now they are up and Kicking !
