Some idiot trainer tried showing a new technique on the leg press and ended up cracking my husbands ribs or else it is hurting like it's cracked. His knees came down and hit hard with a heavy weight. Also a result of poor spotting. Anyway, what else can be done for the pain. We have wrapped him with an ace bandage, but it is still hard sometimes for him to breath or even move when he is trying to sleep. Also all the roller coasters we rode yesterday didn't help!!! with out an xray its hard to say,but i would keep him wrapped to contain movement of the rib cage and use cold pack 20=30 mins on and 20-30 mins off every other 4 hrs.worked for me when i was roller durbying.keep bending the bar IP: Logged |

I would get xrays. And don't restrict the movement of the rib cage to much. It could cause Pneumonia (at least that is what my doc told me). I had dislocated a rib a long time ago in college wrestling and the doc told me unless it is poking a lung or something that I just had to live with it. Anyway, hope he feels better. Also, I have found that with leg presses, especially heavy ones there is not much a spotter can do if you can't do the weight your self. ------------------ IP: Logged |

Thanks for the replies. The trainer had his feet placed in some weird position that was almost impossible to recover the weight. Anyway thanks for the advice. IP: Logged |
